The Diner At Number Four — Restaurant in Bassetlaw

The WORST burger ever!! The place was empty and we still waited a very long time for the cheapest, nastiest frozen burger ive ever had. Total rip off, i paid about £13 for a bacon cheeseburger and loaded pulled pork fries. The fries were ok, the pulled pork was average at best and tasted a bit like stale chilli. We also had a milkshake which was tiny for £4.50 and made from crusha and ice-cream. My partner had the same but garlic and cheese fries. There was literally a small drizzle of garlic sauce. So i stupidly paid £35.90 for one of the worst meals ive had in a long time, i wish i had said something at the time 😒 **Just an update to the reply from the Diner. We did NOT finish the meals, most of the fries were left and i left a fair bit of the "meat" from the burger as i just couldn't finish it. The waitres did come after the meal and said was everything OK and I DID NOT reply to her, yes i should have said no to her but thats my mistake. I think waiting 25mins in a VERY QUIET restaurant - there was literally one small family eating outside, so to say that 25mins was acceptable is not really on. Went for my other halves birthday meal , in the past has been an excellent place to go 4 of us went 4/10/23 , ordered drinks and when they arrived the mojito had dead mouldy mint in it and the 2 beers were spilt on the table on arrival . We the went to order food and we're informed no chicken breast available,this is after its been closed for 2 days so assume stock replenishment in this time ? Nope! Food took nearly an hour to arrive and was average at best ( nothing difficult ordered) we then ate and upon clearance of the table the plates and cutlery were dropped by the waitress ( in her defence needs training and seem to be left doing all front of house alone ) there seemed to be other staff and friends sat around . We left after the food without dessert as a lady in glasses arrived from the kitchen and was leant in the bar glaring at us and bluntly asked if we wanted more drinks. Lovely decor and comes with that American vibe ....the wood about leather decor works very well with the neon signage and giant traffic light. Well put together. The staff ...all the girls very polite and people friendly and will make sure everything is good for you and guests. Chicken wings in buffalo sauce is a must for those like things a bit spicy but still have your tastebuds in tact. The Chipotle prawn skewers was a winner. Chilli dog was lovely in its pretzel bun and I opted for the bbq pulled fries go with it. Was a winner. Star of the show goes to the rump steak with blue cheese butter. Awesome 👌 The smore brownie was rich and sweet, while the cheesecake chocolate torte was in my wife's opinion was scrumptious.
