I have visited this Wetherspoons daily now for six month or more but have never experienced anything as bad with noise and lack of hygiene. I've seen a customer empty his nose onto the carpet, wipe the remains off of his face with his hand and continue to operate the fruit machine. Children tearing around the pub screeching, jumping and standing on the table-tops and climbing over the seating booths. Customers opening sauce bottles with their mouths.

Noise levels are sometimes so loud it is impossible to hold a normal conversation, exacerbated with customers shouting and swearing at staff, which goes unchallenged. Loud music from phones and other devices despite the absence of performing rights licence. Disgusting language is allowed throughout along with loutish behaviour.

The booth seats are so dirty, mainly due to some customers standing on them or putting their feet on them, this happens regularly. Booth tables are loose causing a constant rocking movement. The glasses and cutlery are often smeared and dirty. Food all over the carpets has been trodden in by all.

The toilets are disgusting, ”used” toilet paper on the floor, filthy toilet bowls, wet floors covered in “liquid” and toilet doors so sticky you need to open them with gloves! There is also the issue of female members of staff coming into the Gents toilet, why? It’s not as if they ever check anything.

Behind the bar bottles are hurled at distance into bottle bins, causing possible air borne glass shards into drinks or glasses, not to mention the noise!

In the outside area ash trays are placed on non-smoking tables in the non-smoking area. Smoking is permitted in the entire beer garden and in all doorways allowing smoke and smell of smoke into the pub. I have seen vapes used regularly inside the venue as well.

The staff challenge none of the above. This leads me to believe that they may have been instructed to ignore everything in the interest of money into the till; the worry being that if a customer complained there is a risk of getting barred.

Of course much of the above occurs at other Wetherspoons as well and this is deterring normal...

I'm writing this on behalf of my mother and sister, and also my mums friend, they went into your establishment on the 19th May 2023,at 12 30pm,and the reason they have one star is for the cleanliness of the eating area,my deaf sister ordered her meal first and a drink,so she ordered chicken burger with out a bread bun and salad and chips, then my mother ordered hers which was fish and chips, and then mums friend also asked my mum to order hers at the same time, which was chicken burger and chips and a latte,so they paid and then waited for their meals to come, when the meals came out,my sisters was chicken no bun, salad but no chips,my mum was as she ordered, then my mums friend got the wrong meal brought out, which was a cheese burger and chips, when mum explained she didn't order that ,the waitress said this is what came through on the ticket, when mum said no she didn't order that, obviously the waitress on the till did not repeat what my mum ordered,so they thought the order would be right ,so theywent to sit down and wait for the meals, and then the waitress was really snotty to my mum and said she wouldn't change her friends meal or get a refund they walked out with no food for her friend, and the waitress didnt even ask if they would like to see the manager ,i wouldn't recomend your restuarant to any one, very poor...

SHOCKING MEAL!! With my best mate being a regular he talked me in to coming for lunch today, all of which was awful, even he was embarrassed! We both had the Roast Beef lunch with a Strawberry Ice-cream Sundae. The entire meal was processed food with cheap frozen yorkshire pudding, cheap frozen roast potato's and frozen carrots, sprouts and peas, non of which was cooked properly. Even the beef wasn't from a freshly cooked joint of meat! My mate ate his because he was starving and hadn't eaten since yesterday but all I could manage was the beef, 1 potato and the yorkshire pudding. The pub wasn't particularly busy but I had to chase up our puddings twice before they finally arrived but even that was disgusting because the ice-cream had completely melted to the point where it was like a Mac Donalds milkshake! How can somewhere that clearly has a chef in order to cook all their grills not be capable of cooking a roast dinner using fresh ingredients?!? My mate who goes regularly tells me the grill menu is usually good and most Whetherspoons I've been to in the past have had excellent food but this had to be up there in my WORST EVER...
