Although I am an avid boba lover. I had a rather disappointing experience today. I get a Boba from Derry maybe once or twice a week so I am familiar with the staff. A new member of staff was working on her own. I m familiar with this establishment and some of their Co workers r my friends. I asked the lady of my friend was working and she gave me an abrupt, sharp ānoā and turned back. I then called her back to get a new stamp on the loyalty card. It was not a very friendly interaction. Along with this I am aware that the staff do not get treated nicely at all, along with not enough (or any!) breaks. Full time members of staff are often left to run the shop on their own! This is stressful Iām sure and does sadly slow down the experience. As an Ex-boberista myself I can understand how stressful it is to make drinks that have alot of steps in them. Waiting inside a packed store with little to zero ventilation, no social distancing whatsoever. People waiting behind also got their drinks first. Finally received the drinks 20 mins after the 60 mins collection time because they weren't even prepped. Drinks are fine - the sugar/ ice were mixed up but no biggie. Definitely not worth the long wait to be greeted with poor customer service (some were being rude to customers having boba for the first time lol) on top of poor follow through of the COVID regulations.
