We did the Dream House 2.0 escape, and it had a lot of positives; the atmosphere was fantastic and puzzles were really interesting, great attention to detail, the tension ramped up with perfect timing in the segment that we actually got to experience. We maybe got a few too many hints when we felt they weren't needed? That's the only issue I have with it as an overall event But I have to say that I'm disappointed with how our experience ended.
Our friend was injured during a jumpscare, he fell while recoiling from the scare and into a nearby photo prop, shattering the glass and injuring his knee and hip as he fell. I'm not in a position to say whether the accident itself was preventable, as the environment was dim and disorienting (which is great for atmosphere but not fantastic for being able to say with certainty exactly what happened) but regardless of fault I can say that I am disappointed with the response to it.
We shouted several times that our friend was hurt, and that there was shattered glass in the room, we got no response from the game moderators the first few times. We tried to continue the game while he rested and attempted to assess his injury (even though we were very much out of the mood at that point) until it became apparent that he couldn't walk without significant aid. At this point we yelled again to whoever was monitoring us that we needed a time out or something, meaning like just a break in the atmosphere or a pause on any upcoming jumpscares to safely make sure he was okay. To this we were informed "There arent any time outs, but you can exit the game". We at least expected the sound effects to stop or lights to come on, I know I shouted a request for this as the lights and sound had been controlled during other aspects of the experience... But this didn't happen. We had to physically help him out of the experience by ourselves, down a steep flight of stairs while the low, disorienting lighting continued flickering and flashing and the scary sound effects played. I'm sure you can appreciate how unsafe that could be in the position we were in
I understand that this is not intended to be a physically challenging experience, but you can never rule out the possibility of someone being injured on your premesis. Through the entire process we were left to our own devices, the lights never came on, nobody came to help us, and we weren't offered any kind of first aid. All the help that was offered was a brief "are you okay" when we got out the door, and the offer of a taxi home, followed by silence until we got the taxi and left.
As soon as it was clear a person was injured, we should have had someone in the room with us to provide first aid, and someone who was struggling to walk should not have been expected to make their way down the stairs, in a disorientating environment to then STILL not receive first aid, when it's not even clear if they can walk safely at all.
Normally I would simply chalk it up to "accidents happen" and move on, it was an otherwise fantastic, well crafted experience, but the failure to deal with the incident appropriately does make me personally hesitant to return or...
Read morei’ve been to this venue three times to do the zombie escape, the dream house and you’ll float too. all the games have been incredibly thought out, attention to detail is great and overall a really fun activity. the actors are very interactive, the puzzles are challenging but fun and the room decor makes it an immersive experience. the first and third time i visited i was greeted with games masters who were genuinely lovely, you could tell they loved their jobs, they were enthusiastic, helped our team when needed and made us laugh and feel comfortable from start to finish. my only complaint is that the second time we visited our games master was rude, disrespectful, swore at our team and was patronising when anxiety and fear was displayed in a horror themed environment but my friend left a review about this before, so i felt like i should come back and say that the company redeemed themselves with the hospitality we received...
Read moreOur first time at an escape room and it was great fun; plenty of laughs, especially afterwards, when we realised how disorganised and stupid we were! Lol! Pluses: It was very atmospheric and plenty of things to figure out. Lots of hints and tips along the way. Lots of props to use to help solve the problems. The staff were lovely. Courteous and helpful, and made for very entertaining zombies. Lol! It was reasonably priced at £140 for 5 of us. Cons: We appreciate it needed to be dark to add to the atmosphere, but it was a little bit too dark. Don’t wear light clothing as it’s very dusty. The industrial fans used to keep the rooms cool are hard on the eyes and the allergies. It would be quite cramped if there are more than five or six people. We will definitely be back to try another one and we’ll be better prepared with our reading glasses & darker clothes. Lol! Highly...
