The Real Deal! This place has it all for for a great gastronomic experience. Completely refurbished with a charm of elegance and welcome home feel that puts you at ease to relax and ready to enjoy what's to come. The atmosphere and ambience is further enhanced by the warm welcome and most attentive individual attention that I have not experienced in such an establishment for a long time. I came first time with my family and were not disappointed with the range and quality of food available. Good range of beers on tap and bottled, with added bonus of cocktails. The missus had gin-based cocktail which ticked all her boxes. The current menu range was more than ample to satisfy us, and were advised the menu range was to be extended very shortly. Our starters included fish pakora (large with super crispy batter), a massive mixed grill plate; we ordered extra plate of lamb kebabs as they were so succulently tasty. The Masala chips were an excellent side dish too. Each item was very will cooked, perfectly spiced and without all that bright red false food colouring often used by lesser establishments. Main course included an exceptional lamb curry dish and a lamb keema dish that had peas freshly popped from their pods. The naans were fresh, light and thin and perfect companion for the lamb dishes. Although we were stuffed by this stage, the desserts looked too good to bypass, and we were not wrong. The brownie, locally made, with ice cream was an indulgent delight. All throughout, the level of service impeccable, the food hot and fresh and tasty, the environment and atmosphere all came together to make this an unexpectedly wonderful and memorable experience. We will definitely be adding this to our must...
ย ย ย Read moreI came here for Sunday dinner............
Cold unwelcoming place, asked the manager what the soup of the day was. Didn't know, had to ask the chef.
Ordered the food. Scotch egg for starter, this was 1 million percent a supermarket scotch egg, obvious from the perfect cut and how it looked a perfect cut in half. It was bland, cheap heated up complete vileness.
The waiter collected the starter and I told her it was heated up supermarket egg. She laughed and said ok. She then came back to say the chef had made them this morning but yea they were reheated. Firstly you can't reheat pork and quite frankly it was lies, actually quite comical after looking at the scotch egg. It was made by a machine in a factory.
Then the main, bland rank roast, beef heated out the packet, white potatoes as roasters, soggy veg, crunchy powdery stuffing and a water vile excuse for gravy.
We asked for the bill and asked for a receipt but apparently the printer wasn't working, I raised the scotch egg calamity with the manager and she said the waitress was mistaken and they wasn't reheated! But she did say try the place again on January 2nd as they're will be new owners.
Makes me laugh when management respond on reviews and defend etc. No chance on this one the above is true.
Complete disgrace, nice...
ย ย ย Read moreI went last weekend with some friends and had an awesome time.
The gentleman behind the bar was very welcoming.
Drinks selection is really good includes Red Stripe and Kingfisher on tap.
When it came to food. I was very impressed.
They have an Indian food menu
I eat vegan and when this was explained, the chef was very helpful and made me something off the menu including a very hearty and tasty daal with tandoori roti.
My friends who eat gluten free also seemed to really enjoy their food
I normally take my time taking pictures but I was so hungry when my food came I just took quick shots and ate away.
Place has a really nice atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff and nice cold drinks. There's a decent amount of parking infront of the pub.
The place is a great location, not far from Sutton Town Centre.
Will definitely come...
