I've been here several times over the last few years. Visited once again today Wed 13th February 2019 at about 2:30pm. It wasn't too busy at this time of day, but during lunch time can get rather busy. The evenings are usually quite quiet too from my previous visits here. Depends what kind of atmosphere you prefer. I like to sit and enjoy the quiet while reading or doing a little bit of work. I had my usual medium chocolate with a shot of hazelnut, and a chicken fajita wrap. I'm pretty certain the fajita wrap has gotten smaller than it used to be, but that's a discussion for another day - it does still taste very nice thankfully. The shot of hazelnut in the hot chocolate costs a little more, but it has really transformed my enjoyment of what used to be a boring hot drink into one that gives joy with each sip. I managed to find a table with a wall socket next to it so I could charge my phone and laptop. There are only three or four tables with such luxury, and during busy times you might find yourself in a pickle if you urgently need a power socket. A member of staff was being trained whilst I was that so that every so slightly delayed my order, but that's completely fine and understandable. However, usually, I do feel I could be served a little quicker. On almost every occasion I've visited, I've had to contend with the staff finishing off a conversation before serving me. Or another example of the staff not being used effectively and whilst one is slogging their guts out making umpteen lattes at once, there's another staff member staring into space. Perhaps they've been told to stick to certain stations, but giving a colleague a hand makes light work and for a better overall experience. Those are my...
Read moreThis is such a nice little Costa. It is always quite full when we go, but I suppose that tells you that it is a good one! I went for coffee with some friend and the place was full but the queue went down quickly, our drinks order was taken and we got our drink really quickly too. No mistakes or anything and considering how busy it was, the staff were still really helpful, helping me collect some points on my Costa app when I wasn't sure how to do it, and they were very friendly. The tables were clean and we saw staff cleaning them when people beside us got up to leave ready for the next people. The food selection was great and while Costa has always been quite pricey in my opinion, it's great for a little treat! I wish the shop was a bit bigger, but there's nothing they can do about that. overall the staff make the shop, really happy to help and never seem to be in a bad mood or give customer service, even with rude people in the line behind us! I will certainly be...
Read moreA small format Costa, which was unsurprisingly rammed, during Saturday lunchtime. A kind couple offered to give up their table for us (two adults, a three-year-old and a two-year-old), which was promptly cleaned by a very courteous, male member of staff. It was a clean Costa, with an equally clean toilet. Only downside for me, was the rather unprofessional manner of the till operators and "Baristas", who lacked the same friendly approach of the gentleman who cleaned out table. The ordering process felt rushed (not unusual, for Costa), and the ongoing non-work-related conversations going on between those members of staff, in front of customers, felt unprofessional and somewhat rude. A bit of a blemish, on an otherwise...
