Morrisons Cafe — Restaurant in Birmingham

If a lower score I could give, I would.

An infuriating complete waste of my money and time.

The meal totalled roughly £9, I was asied to wait 15 minutes, the preperation took over 40 minutes.

Once the food arrived, it was missing cutlery, I was smiled at by the member of staff on the register before being told to give her a moment, I granted her request, that moment she needed was over 20 minutes.

Past the 20 minutes I revisited the counter several times leaving my now stone cold overpriced food unattended, finally, another member of staff handed me a disposable wooden knife and fork, which the first retorted at, claiming she only just put some cutlery in the wash and it would be done in a minute.

In conclusion:

The food itself was overpriced, the batter was par-cooked, the interior being damp and the exterior crispy and oily, it was cold on arrival but ice cold by the time I was able to eat.

There was roughly 30 chips, for £8 I would expect more or atleast a dip - even McDonalds gives more for the price.

The atmosphere was not very pleasant, due to the shoppers constantly walking past; not a big deal if you have headphones as I did though.

£2 for a coke is highway robbery as only 2 steps away in the same store the same drink is £1, again, overpriced.

Customer service is terrible, and the kitchen/front of house staff is uncoordinated with poor communication.

I did not feel welcome here at all, and the few other customers, of which there were not many, were also facing issues with their orders.

Not long after eating, I felt physically sick so made my way to the rest room to throw up.

Very very very dissapointed and if I wasn't so dissapointed and feeling physically sick from this food I would have requested a refund.

The only reason for 2 stars was that the fish was flaky.

All tables were dirty.

Oh, also the peas were not mushy, even though it clearly...

Love the atmosphere and the vibe and the food was good too but the asian lady (40s) is very rude. She appears nice but is very condescending and acts as if she is doing a favour. Example, if you ask for anything she acts unbothered, makes a face and says “let me see what we have” before she goes to the back to check. Did this multiple times. Did not communicate to us that there were no mushy peas and gave normal peas instead -annoying when it is a fish and chips staple. When I told them I ordered mushy, she did the “let me check” annoyed act again, almost as if she isn’t getting paid to work. Overall, she is very moody and acts tired. Very unprofessional. If she it not able to work she shouldn’t. I asked for some more sauce afterwards and she came over to our table and started COUNTING the sauces we had already (only have a few between us) in front of everyone. Very unprofessional and passive aggressive. Other customers started looking around as if we had done something wrong. I was happy to pay for extra sauces but she didn’t even suggest this. Need better customer service....

Ordered a fish and chips, the fish was nice but the chips were refried and became hard and dark brown, I was offered a replacement portion of chips but the amount of time it would have taken to make the chips would have meant my fish would have went cold so I didn’t bother as my meal was ruined anyway. The service was shoddy at best with the staff more pre occupied with idle gossip in the kitchen than the customers, I was left waiting for several minutes at the counter whilst the cashier enjoyed a hot cup of tea in the kitchen nattering away about the holidays.. The standards have dropped drastically and the Morrisons Cafe further up the road in Sheldon takes way more pride in...
