Pala Wood Fired Italian Pizza — Restaurant in Birmingham

Shocking experience with this takeaway. Initially they delivered two inedible pizzas to us, one was completely burnt and the other stated 'King prawns' and actually had the cheapest tiny prawns on it. This place is not cheap and we were expecting decent quality. We called to complain about our order and was told by the person on the phone that they had spoken to the manager and we could have our next order free. So, we called to place another order a couple of weeks later, spoke to the manager who claimed he didn't remember anything and he would only give us one pizza free. To cut a long story short he agreed to give us the 2 pizzas free. He then came personally to deliver it to our door and proceeded to tell us that this is a 'typical asian mentality' to try and get free food!! We were extremely offended and just shocked that the manager of an establishment can behave this way. We are still awaiting an apology regarding the previous order! Unsure how this place still exists if that is how his customers are treated. Needless to say we would never order from here again and would suggest others think twice knowing this is...

###JUST GOT HOME TO WRITE REVIEW AND MUST SAY, ON THE WINDOW IT STATES UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT, SEEMS LIKE OLD HORRENDOUS REVIEWS WERE FROM PREVIOUS OWNERS###During an out of our area visit to Tesco, we had been really busy preparing for our holiday. I rarely and I mean rarely eat take out food, but saw pala and noticed how immaculately clean it is...even waited while they retrieved something from the fridge to make sure it was as clean as it looks...OMG!! All food was in purpose made covered food trays and fridge was pristine. I don't really trust meat or seafood from places, so ordered a plain margarita. Dough was made whilst we were there, the sauce was the freshest I've ever had, tasted home made with fresh tomatoes, the base was amazing and just the right amount of basil... BETTER THAN ANY IVE HAD IN ITALY!!.. Next time I'm in the area, I'll try something more adventurous. WELL DONE, YOU...

Can not fault this place! The pizza dough was so light, fluffy and crispy! By far the best and most authentic Italian pizza I've had from a takeaway in Birmingham.

I also had a pizza from the place a few doors down on the same visit and it just did not compare. Don't waste your time or money, just go straight to Parla. They know exactly what they are doing.

The tomato sauce was tangy, peppery, full bodied and packed with flavour. The cheese was just as nice and really complemented the sauce. The pepperoni slices were thick and tasty, didn't leak oil all over the pizza which made for an even more enjoyable eat.

Only downside is that we ate in the car, but again that's not really a downside because it's ALWAYS best to eat a wood fired pizza straight from the over. Don't wait till you get home,...
