The Gate — Restaurant in Birmingham

A proper pub! Wonderful decor and a recent refurb complimenting the historic indoor theme. Some very good bands play here and attract a keen crowd. The landlords are more than happy to let you sample the real ales and with a constantly changing flow it's easy to get hooked here. Some afternoons the landlord generously puts the cash in to the state of the art juke box. Very proud of their music here. You can also watch sport on the large screen although it is probably BT Sport allowing you to watch football every week. One to visit...

Been going there since the new owners took over! Always friendly atmosphere inside & out. Mark his 110% THE REAL deal friendly & so is his daughter Loren 😀👍 Mark and the staff have REALLY turned this pub around. If you want a great night out in Sutton with live music 🎶 cheaper beer than anywhere else...then this his the place too come too 100% £2.50 for a carling can't be bad can it hey ladies & gentlemen. Spirits are a great deal too but hey don't just take my word for it get down there & see for yourselves. I'm off up there...

Unfortunately, this is not a welcoming pub. The atmosphere is unfriendly, especially if you’re not a local. A group of regulars at the top end of the pub create an unpleasant environment, with racist remarks, drug use, and generally nasty behaviour. Instead of being a comfortable and safe place to enjoy a drink, it feels uninviting and intimidating. Definitely not somewhere...
