Turkish Grill — Restaurant in Birmingham

Visited this place on several occasions a few years ago when it first opened. Whilst it wasn't exceptional it was quite good then. Today, however, has left a lot to be desired. I ordered a lamb kofteh with fresh naan. Firstly the kofteh itself is by far the worst I've had at any establishment. It was bland, flavourless and had a odour that was sickening. It wasn't raw but was quite hard and chewy. I decided to cook it further on the grill but to no avail as the foul odour remained. The salad whilst in a large container was pitiful. A few strands of lettuceand cabbage, a few slices of onions & over ripe mushy tomato, a large 1/4 of a partially charred onion,a grilled chilli pepper, two halves of grilled tomato and 5 pieces of jalapeño. There was also a pickled chilli that that was flat as a pancake and slice of lemon. I had a mint and garlic sauce. At first I was going to feed the dog with it but I decided that I would be doing an injustice to the dog and the 'food' has gone straight in the outside wheelie bin. This has been my worst ever takeaway meal. Credit where credits due, the restaurant is very clean and well laid out. Based on my recent experience ordering take away for my family, I have to say that the food was generally decent and the portions were satisfactory for the price.

However, there were several negative aspects to the experience. Firstly, we were given a delivery time of 25 minutes, but in order to pay for the food, we had to download an unfamiliar food delivery app that is similar to Uber Eats but not well-known.

After waiting for an hour, we decided to call and inquire about our order. The staff member who answered had difficulty understanding English, but eventually informed us that our order was being prepared and would be delivered soon.

It took an additional 30 minutes for our food to arrive. While some of the dishes were decent and tasty, the fries were terrible and lacked flavor, so we ended up throwing most of them away.

The chicken strips were overcooked and not enjoyable.

Additionally, we did not receive any condiments with our order, which was disappointing considering we spent £50.

On a positive note, the lamb and meat shawarma were enjoyable and satisfying.

Overall, I would only consider ordering from this place again if there were no other options available, as the food was edible but not...

Possibly the worst customer service ever. They send out promotions which they don’t honour. I have ordered both online on their website before, and through Mealzo a company they are partnered with. They say that you will get a discount, but when you turn up, they won’t give it. The restaurant owner says it’s nothing to do with them and to contact Mealzo, even though I ordered it on their own website. When you email Mealzo they don’t respond at all. I won’t go back, and suggest you don’t order from this place either. At least don’t bother if they keep texting you discount codes. My wife has had the same problem when ordering from her account too. We used to order from this place every couple of weeks or so, but I’m fed up with it now. If this is how they treat their customers to their face, I can only imagine what they are doing behind the scenes...
