Booked a table for 4, We needed to add another 4, Called but it wasn't possible.
I looked online and there were tables available for 5 people, so I reserved a table for 4.
One of my daughters fell ill, so she stayed home with one parent. I told them when we arrived that we were now a 4 and a 2 and asked if possible, could we be seated near each other. This was not welcomed well, The girl on the reception, who happened to be the girl I spoke to on the phone, made every effort to tell me this was not possible, Even though I could see 4 tables of 4 in one corner, and 2 tables of 4 in the middle. I was informed "You are not the only reservation tonight", to which I asked if it was possible to book specific tables (obviously it isn't) These people clearly didn't want to help, I'm glad we aren't eating there as they clearly lack customer service skills, There is absolutely no reason why they were unable to put us on 2 tables near each other, they were being stubborn.
We will NOT be returning.
We are now seated in Frankie & Bennies and the staff here couldn't be more accommodating if they tried!!!
Edit after reply from Harvester.
I didn't 'demand' tables together, I asked you politely for tables 'near' each other, You clearly didn't want to do that, because you gave me the option of a table by the window, and another in the middle of the restaurant (which actually had another empty table next to it!)
And it was me that said I would cancel my reservation, and you agreed, without hesitation, and without wanting to resolve this simple issue, Terrible customer service, and it was only after this that I got so frustrated.
So please don't exaggerate when replying to your negative reviews, it makes...

My husband and I took our granddaughter for a half-term treat (22.02.2024) I informed the server that I was going to use the voucher code and was told that we would have to pay for her dessert if she had one! The children's menu at £6.49 says dessert 'free' but because we were using the voucher we had to pay!! I ordered off the lunch menu and my husband the main menu. Our food arrived promptly minus loaded onion rings, I reminded the server who then got us 'just' onion rings!! Not wanting to fuss I let it go. We had dessert, my granddaughter had the 'make you own ice-cream' which she loves. We were coming towards the end of the meal when suddenly a different server was at our table asking to clear! I said no, as our granddaughter was still eating. With this she said 'I'm done Nanny'. When we got the bill I gave the code so the server got us a new bill. It was hard to read without glasses and the lights are low but we checked the onion rings were what we'd received and paid. I then realised that my lunch offer wasn't on the billl. I found the server who said because I used the code my lunch deal was cancelled...'its in the 'terms and conditions ' I explained we weren't told this and he just repeated himself. I then spoke with the manager who again said its in the terms and conditions!
Using the voucher should have saved us money it actually cost us more and the staff couldn't have cared less! Not a nice end to what had been a lovely day with our...
Read moreChristmas Lunch at Harvester.
First time visiting the Harvester and I decided to go for the Three Course Christmas Lunch menu. The Starter of mushrooms in a creamy cheese sauce was okay, but nothing special. The main though was a real let down, with the peas, tasting like dust and the "frozen" baked potatoes being very hard and a bit chewy!!! Not good at all. The rest of the plate was nice though with lots of decent turkey and two large yummy Yorkshire puds and some really tasty stuffing. The gravy was nice too though we could have done with more of it as it only came in a small metal container. I kept trying to flag down one of the staff for some more but they were very busy. Anyway there was also good quality cranberry sauce on the side, though the less said about the one small, sad looking pig in blanket the better. The desert was also pretty shocking to be honest with a really tiny piece of Christmas pudding that tasted very plasticky served with a small cup of rather nice brandy sauce. My wife opted for the Profiteroles and they were amazing, both large and delicious too.
So, while not terrible, I really couldn't recommend the Christmas menu at Harvester based on the poor quality of the potatoes, peas, small amount of gravy, the sad little pig in blanket, not forgetting the awful Christmas pudding. The rest of the food was...
