This place is a really positive addition to Blaby and I've visited many times (probably too many recently!) The staff on the whole are absolutely lovely, with sunny dispositions and a good work ethic - the young guy who regularly takes my order is great and always brightens my day - even remembers I have skimmed milk in my hot chocolate - which is yummy, being made with actual melted chocolate rather than grainy powder. I've given the food 5*, but I have only had teacakes, which are fabulous. The general atmosphere is welcoming and warm and certainly enhanced by the doggy presence - always makes me smile and love getting a few petting points in with those that want to engage. Sometimes, yes, there is a bit of a wait for your order, but that doesn't bother me, it means I have more time to relax in the comfortable seating area and watch the crazy paced world around me - if I wanted to grab a quick coffee and flee I'd go to a drive through. The coffee is just to my taste. Rich, dark and specially blended, much more intense than others, which is probably why there are some negative comments about it - people are too used to high priced generic stuff form other chains. Arrived very late recently, but was still treated with total respect and served coffee in take out cups as it was clearing up time, but allowed to sit in until they closed. That says everything about great customer service. I have one bug bear though and that is the mugs! A lot of them are chipped and if there's one thing I hate, it's being given a chipped mug! Lastly, don't forget to show your Co-op card for discount...

The sound inside can be deafening. Something to do with the ceiling maybe or the decor - can I strongly advise them to get some of the sound deadening wall hangings. They're very cheap and just made out of thick felt like cloth, just a few on the walls will make a massive difference.
They also have this unique system where they call your number for you to come and pick up your food. Adding to the noise and frankly some confusion. A traditional service where they drop the food off at your table would be preferable.
Staff are very nice. I go here every once in a while so will drop an edit later to see if they paid...
Read moreLovely friendly cafe. I gave 3 stars as I am celiac and the 2 gluten free cakes on offer were both on the bottom shelf uncovered. I was told by the young lady serving me that was how they were told to display them. So to the area manager who decided how they should display the cakes, I would suggest, she or he, takes a food hygiene course and has a read of Celiac Uk website. What is the point of having gf cakes when they are being contaminated by the normal cakes above them. Just put them on the top shelf or under one of the domed cake stands and you will find more people will be able...
