Mr Chips — Restaurant in Bolton

Called in here a few months ago when passing through Horwich, had the lunchtime special fish and chips and i really enjoyed it. . So last Thursday i made a special trip from home which is 10 miles each way 20 miles round trip, it was midday and I could see 3 fish in warmer, 2 looked lovely but the one nearest to the staff did not...there was a few customers before me, i was hoping one of them would get a fish but none did so i was served it...i went back to my car to eat it hoping it was better than it looked .. but it was mostly batter and the fish was so hard and dry it looked like it was warmed up from the last time they opened on the sunday..i really should have walked back and shown them, . all that expense on fuel, time and then unedible poor food and being a poor pensioner ...i won't recommend or go again and i was going to treat my 86-year-old cousin with a meal who lives in Horwich at some point. after luving my 1st visit and telling her to try Mr chips out . i don't normally write reviews but felt compelled...

This is the only chippy we will visit, the food is always amazing and nothing compares once you've had it. Laura, her son and the rest of the team are such wonderful and kind people. There is always a queue out of the door with 100s visiting them weekly, yet Laura always remembers my boys and asks about specific events in their life that she will have remembered from our last visit, no matter how much time...

Best chippy I've had in a long time. I would go as far as saying its the best chippy in the area and for miles around it. Fish cooked to perfection, chips are the best chippy chips I've eaten. Can get very busy, but shows how good it is. Friendly staff and helpful with any questions asked. Highly...
