Phat Desserts — Restaurant in Bolton

Let me start off with saying that this review is accurately based on our family experience of Phat Desserts/Burgers…..

We have no affiliation with this takeaway….just getting the gremlins out of the way.

This new takeaway popped up on Justeat so we decided to test the metal….

4 kids, 2 adults and a bill of around 35 quid later……we waited for our delivery

We ordered :

Cheese burger meals : Good decent portions, well made, really good fresh salad and good quality burgers( if you’re switched on, you can tell the different between a cheap one and a decent one)

Grilled donner and chips meal : Good decent portions, well cooked with a subtle hint of spice( I liked this because other takeaways think more spice is what a sizzler or griller donner is…..it’s not) came nice and hot!

Spicy fillet burger meals: Taste and quality were decent but the thing that would change this would be the size of the fillet….other takeaways have thicker juicier chicken fillets…it’s all about the ounces of fillet they use…I’m certain this can be changed easily!!

Desserts: We have ordered desserts from here twice before we initially ordered the hot food. I can honestly say that their desserts are ten/ten. You get good quality desserts, no doubt.

One massive thing to mention is surrounding the drink…..

BIG SHOUT OUT TO PHAT DESSERTS FOR JOINING THE BOYCOTT ON CERTAIN DRINKS…

MANY TAKEAWAYS DON’T GIVE A DAMN AND THAT’S SUCH A SHAME.

I’M 100% CERTAIN THAT CUSTOMER WILL PAY THE PRICE TO SUPPORT WHAT YOU ARE DOING… I MOST DEFINITELY WILL 😊

In the “kebabs” section, I could only see the grilled donner and chips? (on your website) unless there is more to come….

Phat Desserts came through with fresh, hot food, and the Kinder Bueno cheesecake was a tasty win, but that dreadful burger sauce was the villain of the night. It turned a promising smash burger, fries, and doner into a soggy, one-note disappointment. They’ve got the foundations right—fresh ingredients and solid delivery—but they need to rethink their sauce game and bring some creativity to the table. If you’re ordering, maybe request “no sauce” and stick to the desserts for now. The fresh prep and delicious cheesecake keep this from tanking, but the sauce fiasco and lack of originality knock it down a peg.
