Went to the Steak House on Sunday 28th Sept ’25, this is our first visit since opening. We had the 12oz fillet steak, with chips and sauce, it also comes with a salad which isn’t mentioned on the menu, I have to say, it’s the best steak I’ve had in a very long time ( last decent one was in the Fairmont 5star hotel in Riyadh, and this was better!) , it was huge, and cooked to perfection, you can tell that it’s a quality piece of meat, it was just sublime, melt in the mouth steak with a wonderfully subtle and rich flavour, with an almost sweet buttery finish, quality at its best. The other meal was a chicken in white wine and asparagus sauce, again well presented with salad and fries, the chicken was wonderfully cooked, and full of flavour, not dry as it is often served, but again a quality piece well cooked by the Greek chef (I think his name is George!). All the meals on the menu are well priced in n relation to similar restaurants in the area, but the quality and quantity supersedes the others bay far. We had a wonderful evening on The Steak House, Danny and Dana taking time to chat and make you feel welcome. We will definitely be back, and we encourage others to go and try this wonderful restaurant, with its lovely decor and staff, it’s a great addition to Horwich. Also has a dog friendly area, which is great, and a bar area, which is separated at the side. 4 stars for atmosphere as only 4 couples in at the time, but would...
Read moreI visited the Steakhouse & Bar in Horwich and the place itself has a nice, welcoming feel with family-run vibes — relaxed and personal rather than corporate. It was surprisingly quiet for a Friday night, which made it easy to chat and enjoy the meal. My only small gripe with the setting would be the bright blue neon light that wraps around the restaurant — it’s quite harsh against the otherwise cosy atmosphere.
I started with the calamari, which unfortunately missed the mark for me. It tasted more like frozen breadcrumb calamari — no real flavour or seasoning that stood out, and the texture wasn’t great either. My main was the 12oz ribeye (medium). It was okay, but again lacked seasoning, and I might have been unlucky as it was quite fatty throughout. Dessert was the tiramisu, which looked lovely when served but tasted as though it had come straight from the freezer, with some parts still very cold and the ladyfinger layer at the bottom tasting a bit stale.
Trying to book the place was a bit of a pain as no one picked up the phone for the three weeks I tried to book a table. Once there, the service was polite but not very attentive — especially when we wanted the bill.
Overall, I left a little disappointed, but I’m still glad there’s a steak place in Horwich that serves alcohol. I’d love to come back in the future to see if things have improved, as it’s a great idea and has real...
