The GOG House — Restaurant in Bolton

Had an evening meal for two on Saturday 1st November 2025, booked a table so no wait to be seated. Starters ordered of garlic bread and rustic mashed beans. The beans were not what we expected but I can only say that they were delicious and tasty!

For the main course we opted for the two choices of chicken skewers, so we could mix and match - salt & pepper and double smoked. These were absolutely tremendous and cooked to perfection. They weren't too hard or crispy on the outside and the meat inside was juicy and succulent. The double smoked were full of flavour and the flavour level of the salt & pepper was spot on. All served with a generous portion of chips and dips. Chuck in two rounds of drinks and I can honestly say that the £52 bill was fantastic value for money! This fairly new restaurant I believe opened 6 months ago. As I was visiting my brother who lives local we decided to try something different. Well this was a very welcome different menu to what you will generally see. The other noticeable differences I'd their prices and in a very food way. Superb quality tasty food that doesn't break the bank. The venue itself is tastefully decorated exceptionally clean comfortable. As for the service this was so welcoming polite and friendly. Allergies questions asked at ordering too. To sum up I highly recommend this independent business and hope they go from strength to strength. I will definitely be back on my next visit...

A group of my friends all guys (9) from all over Horwich, Bolton and Chorley decided to go for something to eat one next that and stumbled on to this establishment! If I say it was fantastic food, I would honestly not be doing this place justice!! Alex (aka nicknamed Gog, his wife Maria and their daughter) provided brilliant service, and food cooked by Alex and Maria was exceptional and we all thought it was extremely great value for both the food and drinks!!!
