Steaks on a Plane — Restaurant in Bolton

The steak comes pre-shredded and is of decent quality - good value for money if you’re after a casual bite (remember to take cash as they don't accept card payments!).

The diner is unique as it's inside a plane but the interior needs renovating, as the tables and seats seem very worn and outdated. Whilst the open kitchen adds to the atmosphere, it also leaves the air feeling greasy and full of smoke. It’s also not particularly baby-friendly, as no high-chairs are provided and the space is cramped... the only access to the diner is via a steep(ish) set of steps, making it impractical for prams or young children.

The diner itself is busy but with no option to pre-book a table, you’re left waiting for one to free up. This can create an uncomfortable environment, as people often hover nearby, watching you eat or even asking how much longer you will take to finish!

Cleanliness is the major drawback, as the staff don’t seem to clear or sanitise tables thoroughly after diners finish their food, so expect to see remnants on the floor, seating (and even window!).

That said, the venue’s theme is quite fun. The key attraction is the pilot’s cockpit available for photos and for children to explore and play inside.

Would I return? Yes, but only if I am already in the area and not with my family, as it’s better suited for a casual outing...

CASH ONLY!!! Just remember it’s cash only and although there is a small sticker mentioning this on the backboard menu they won’t remind you until they’re cooking your food. So please make sure you have your physical card with you to access the cash machine across the road. The place itself is quirky and great for kids, they get to sit in the cockpit; a great distraction whilst you’re ordering your food. The food was fresh & very tasty. So tasty it can get messy :). I would recommend taking some handy wet wipes though as the sauce bottles that get passed from table to table can get mucky. Other than that, the place was decent. Great photo opportunities, if someone doesn’t just park their car under the plane Grrr !! despite there being a car park and parking on the side of the road if the parking is full. Remember, cash only !

This place has fallen off from when it first opened, the food was miles better when it was the steaks on a bus, but even then when you opened this plane new, the food was not bad at all, but now the food is not very edible, the interior of the place is very dirty, dirty tables, dirty floors, dirty glass windows and doors, dirty sauce bottle, everywhere just filth, need to do some deep cleaning, all the seats are ripped and it just looks awful now. Food is bland, you choose favouritism, we ordered 2 burgers and your 4 mates walked in and ordered big meals and they got their food straight away before us when they ordered so much food, crazy, this is terrible experience, i thought after 1 year ill try again this place but i regret trying it again...
