Had a pre-booked afternoon tea at 2pm yesterday. one word - shambles upon arrival I informed the staff we had booked afternoon tea, i was seated and waited for my friend (her birthday!) she arrived and we ordered 2 cokes with the waitress who said your afternoon tea will be with you shortly . We finished our cokes and noticed a lady who arrived after us receive an afternoon tea, we never commented as we where not aware of her situation i.e she may have been sat at the bar and just took a seat. We ordered another coke and continued chatting... the ladies sat behind us where complaining that it had took an hour to get their bill so we didn't want to complain over how long our food was taking as the eat out scheme was obviously making demands on staff.... However, one hour and 15 mins into our visit we noticed staff stood to sides so we asked the lady who served us where our afternoon tea was and the shock on her face when she asked if we had not received. Which we informed we hadn't. The older server then made a (poor timed) joke about having afternoon tea tomorrow to which i promptly told him if he cant serve it after pre-booked we sure as hell would not be coming again !! We asked for bill which never arrived so we walked to counter and was informed cokes on house for mix up Customer service and the lack of sorting the...
Read moreCame here for a friends birthday, food took that long to come out he could have had another birthday, chicken on the roast din din was dryer than a sandstorm. Pizzas where undercooked and soggy underneath, floppy. Chips didn’t come out with the food and had to ask twice about them. The person who’s birthday it was has been crying all the way home, has had to ring 111 as was getting panicky at the thought of another floppy pizza in the future. The examiner on the phone diagnosed him with pepperluciophobia (fear of pizzas) but said this could turn into cibophobia (fear of food). My friend is very traumatised by these events, also had to deal with a very rude wasp throughout the meal which landed on said floppy pizza, and then drank my friends pint. It left without paying towards the bill. The best part of this meal I must say was the cake though, it was really amazing and I’m glad we got it from asda beforehand for him. If your a chef and can’t make a pizza then I would strongly recommend getting some microwaveable Chicago towns in.

Read moreI actually don't even want to give 1 star but it wont let me do that. Booked 2 tables to have a meal out with family. On arrival the setting was lovely in the marquee. It wasn't busy so was really nice. Waiter took our order+the starters arrived. That is the only good thing i can write about our evening out. It all went downhill from there. We waited ages for our main meal+our husbands waited even longer!! After asking twice and an hour and half later husbands got their meal of a basic curry. No apology. As we were waiting for our bill 3 other tables were complaining..one table were saying that their daughter hadn't even got her pizza+everyone else at the table had eaten! The bill came+was wrong so had to call the waiter over again. The whole night was a disaster..the staff+manager had no idea..it was chaos. What should have been a lovely family tea out while supporting our local restaurants in this awful time turned out that we couldnt wait to leave. The manager couldnt have cared less. Needless to say will not...
