Whitesides Fish and Chips — Restaurant in Bolton

Anybody who knows Bolton, knows that Bennett’s lane was renowned for its great food. Well , Whitesides has without a doubt, smashed it out of the water. Plain and simple menu with 3 fantastic curries. The chips are proper chips, not like most chippies try to palm off by using cheaper potatoes and the fish is white, light and fresh. I would suggest anybody who’s criticised this chippy over the years/months please give it another go, you won’t be disappointed as the new owners are definitely put one hundred percent into it.

I have luved in Bolton 35 years and have only just been told about whitesides, 😮 What a great recommendation. I ordered fish, chip, peas and Irish curry sauce. OMG it was bloody lovely! Fish was fresh with nice, crispy batter. The chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, the Peas were spot on and the curry sauce was amazing! Not only that the staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially the lady that served me. I was shocked on the price, it was very reasonable and good quality food. I've paid a lot more and been disappointed. Keep up the good work....

I feel very lucky to have this excellent Chippy within a few minutes walk. Every meal I've had from here, from Cod chips and peas, to Sausage chips and gravy, has been cooked to perfection, and I treat my two sons to a chippy tea, once in a while, when they call round, and they love them from here. What makes the visits extra special though, is the staff, who take an interest in you, and are happy to chat with a friendly smile, and always make you feel welcome. That's my experience anyway....
