Having visited the clock house cafe on several occasions and recommended it to others, I have to say how disappointed we were after yesterday's visit. On arrival our table was littered with the remains of the previous customers lunch. It was still there after we'd eaten. The waitress practically threw our food at us and said 'no cranberry'. My latte was just a normal coffee in a latte glass. When I went to order dessert, our waitress practically hid round the corner when she saw me. In the end I went and sat back down. No desserts purchased. The other two staff members sat outside smoking. Several other groups came and went without ordering food because of the state of the tables. For some reason the seat cushion I was sat on left my bottom soaked. Even the customer on the next table was complaining about the coffees they'd had. He was having to tell them the correct way to make them. Surely if you sell different coffees you should know how to do them. Sorry but we won't be back. I'm not sure the other customers that were there when we were will either. Very disappointing. The only positive from yesterday was the...
Read moreI've walked past this little café many times, but this was my first meal here. It's in a delightful heritage building that was a waiting room for the trams when they ran all the way to Lytham. Lovely outdoor space with palms and the odd starling visiting my table! It was very clean and Covid safe and I liked the fact that there was hand sanitiser on every table. There are also tables inside and a clean unisex toilet with disabled facilities. The lady who served me was chatty and friendly and service was quick despite it being fairly busy. They do breakfasts, sandwiches and simple meals as well as ice-cream to eat in or take out. Had the big breakfast with a choice of white or brown toast, very satisfying and everything on my plate was hot. The price was very reasonable too. A nice friendly place to grab a bite to eat when...
Read moreWent as a birthday treat for my mum. Up from manchester and ordered a burger for her a hotdog for me and two milkshakea. Why the gentleman serving thought it was appropriate to say ' wow, stacking on the calories arent you?' made me feel ill. Awkwardly i had already paid, and when the food eventually arrived AFTER the server had been and gone and mentioned they had forgtten our order not once, but twoce, the burger was burnt and the onion on both were black. The milkshakes were expensive and poorly done, after having had the most gorgeous icecream from the beach shop, we heard his brag he had the best. Absolutely not. what a waste of £17 pounds, would not recommend to anyone wanting...
