This is one of my family’s favourite restaurant. We come here quite regularly but in recent times less and less because I don’t generally get good food and so will try to persuade my family to go somewhere else if I can. It could be just my bad luck as my other family members seem to be ok. I tried different things on the menu. First time I had meatballs starter it was good but the next time it wasn’t (very dry inside although covered in tomato sauce) I tried seafood pasta as I love them and will have this if it’s on the menu whenever and wherever we go out. Unfortunately it was the worst one I ever had. I tried the sirloin steak cooked medium but it came out well done. The next time I tried the filet steak, the same thing happened. I didn’t complain as everyone else seemed to be enjoying whatever they had. However last night I tried the sirloin again and when I ordered I mentioned my bad luck with steak there so asked for medium rare this time. Well, it came out medium well done and it was a strange sirloin as usually the fat is only on one side, this one was fatty all over and I was struggling to cut it with steak knife. The menu said it comes with onion rings, mushrooms and tomatoes and I got none of those and had to ask for them. They said they didn’t give them because I asked for sauce on the steak. Sorry I didn’t get how you pay extra for sauce then get less for other things supposed to come with it?? I wouldn’t even bother to write this if it wasn’t because of the fact Mario handled this very badly in my opinion. I used to like his bubbly personality and his lovely wife Francesca. Mario didn’t like my complaint about the food. He said we didn’t have to pay for my steak, ushered me out and said he heard all about me, always complaining at restaurants in the area. The wait for the table was about an hour but fair enough we didn’t book (we are not from here and we just arrived) service for food was a tad long but the food itself was okay, coming to the end we asked for the bill and it wasn’t bought over, and as it was close to 11pm we needed to leave to get to a shop, we went to the till to pay a £140 bill, and was standing there waiting for 20-25minutes? The owner was just chatting to the locals and didn’t take any notice of us. There were 3 other staff members standing there but the owner then decided to answer the phone, then when my partner said let’s pay the bill she was told that she was rude and to be patient? We was waiting 25 minutes, to pay a bill. The geeza is a joke, and needs to learn how to run a business properly, customers like us is what pays your bills so think twice when’s someone is TRYING TO PAY A BILL… Oh, and little advice, stop shouting every single second of the night, it’s aggravating and annoying… I’d rather take a dump in my hand and clap than go back to this...
Read moreFood was fantastic but the service was awful. We didn't book as was passing through. Had 1 hour wait but wasnt given a time frame, that's was expected as we hadn't booked. However we had to wait a really long time to pay and leave as the owner was saying bye to the locals and answering the phone instead of dealing with our bill while we were waiting to leave.... There was 3 other members of staff that could've assisted either us or the other people.
We explained we were in a rush to pay as was 11pm at night and we needed to get to the shop before they shut. We was told if we're in a rush we should of booked and to book next time. We were told that we shouldn't be so rude. When all we were asking was to pay the bill.
I've never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant before and I will gladly say that I will never return.
They need to be more organised, communicate and not be rude...
