Nando's Addlestone — Restaurant in Borough of Runnymede

Cold food and even colder service. Like most people I’ve eaten at Nando’s in various locations a ton of times, the consistency across most restaurants of good food is why everyone like Nando’s! Unfortunately I had the worst experience at any Nando’s today, I ordered a pitta meal with a drink at the same time as my friend however after 30 mins from ordering my had still not arrived despite my friend receiving his and finishing. I noticed about 15 mins before there was a pitta and corn on the cob sat under the heat lamp, as that was my order and there was only 1 other table who were already eating I rightly assumed that was mine. When the waitress brought it over it was stone cold and the corn was cold and literally dry as a bone. I asked her why it had been sitting under the lamp for so long and she didn’t really answer then said she would change it and quickly ran back to the kitchen. I assume she had just forgot about it, she left the halloumi which was also cold so I took that back to the desk where I was greeted by the chef who had cooked it. He explained to me that it wasn’t cold and he had just made it, I had seen it sat there for 15 mins and watched the waitress bring the same plate over. When I questioned why it was left so long, he again said it wasn’t cold and it couldn’t of been my dish I saw however it doesn’t change the fact it was and why would anybodies plate be there for so long anyway? I then asked him to look at the corn and tell me if he thinks that is ok to be served, as it was viably dry and not look any other time I’d received it. He again explained I was wrong and the corn was grilled, I get that by why is it cold and dry! He did offer to make a new one, however at that time I’m 40 minutes in and don’t have time. I also asked why in 40 minutes the glass for the drink wasn’t brought over, which all leads to the fact they just forgot about the order -!: he just replied I’m sorry about that and processed a refund for me. A bit shocker to be told something I witnessed was not true and point blank lied too, a bit of ownership and responsibility wouldn’t go a miss. today I have been to Nando’s with my friend but unfortunately I did not experience the Nando’s taste we ordered a whole chicken from the app but due to the time we arrive which was 930 and understandable, lady at the till I think was the manager told me that they could only provide 1 1/2chicken and the other As a butterfly chicken which we had no problem when the food came the butterfly chicken came as a very very small portion with it being very cold and dry with NO NANDOS SAUCE ! Hence we had ordered the whole chicken with no side orders it came as 2 plates 1 half chicken on 1 plate butterfly and i could say i have been to nandos all these years i know whats the portion size of a butterfly chicken , the way it came on the plate was like and olive on a plate NOT JOKING ! Even more at the start when SHE WAS TELLING ME ABOUT HOW THERE ISNT ANY WHOLE CHICKEN LEFT , as i know nandos cooks there chicken before hand and when customers come they put it on grill and put sauce , when she was checking if there is chicken or not its like and tray where you USE YOUR HANDS!! To pull and push HOW CAN SOMEBODY USE THEIR FOOT LIKE ITS A LANDSCAPING JOB!!! COMEON NANDOS WHAT IS THIS THIS IS THE SAME LADY TELLING ME TO GET THE BUTTERFLY CHICKEN , !! WHEN FOLKS AND KNIFES WERE BROUGHT TO THE TABLE THEY WERRE DIRTY I HAD TO GO CLEAN IT MY SELF WHERE THEY WASH THERE HANDS , Other than that other staff...

Since Covid, this has become a weekly visit for me so time I reviewed.

I can confidently say Nando's head office should be pleased with how this Addlestone branch is ran. My experience with the staff has been excellent, smiles, humour and polite. And seeing the same staff members on a week to week basis tells me this branch and current management care about retention.

The food! Well I keep coming back for more. My personal fav are boneless chicken thighs 'well done' as I love that char grilled flavour, slathered in hot and garlic sauce. A side of peri chips and spicy rice. I sometimes order a couple pitta breads to make my own sandwiches.

I've also tried the chicken breast wraps, pitta sandwich and burgers. All excellent. However, personally I prefer the darker thigh meat so looking forward to try the 'Garlic Churrasco Burger' that has two flame grilled chicken thighs. 😋

Atmosphere! Well thanks to the staff and management, the cleanliness, the music, the attentiveness towards customers brings everything together giving the same respect to a single customer ordering take out as would to a group or family dinning in.

Also worth mentioning is the reward system where you aquire points on most items that can then be accumulated or redeemed for menu items on your next visit.
