Cheran's Bakery — Restaurant in Borough of Swale

Had an early morning visit and there was so much to pick from! When there’s a good turnover of customers you know it’s gonna be good. We had a3 rocky roads, which were gorgeous, a muffin, again very nice and 2 other items which I must confess were underwhelming. The mixed tub is made to look like it includes good pieces of mixed products online, but it was actually crusts and offcuts, including a small piece of cake which was no bigger than 3mm wide, with lots of bits that should have just gone in the bin. Definitely not worth the £3.50. We were also encouraged to get the mixed box of mini cookies by the server. There was no price on it, so I was very shocked to calculate once I’d left that it cost £9.50 without the dipping sauce. I wonder how many other people fell into that trap later in the day. We also saw the owner come out of the back to talk to a server and she completely ignored the several customers in the store, which we found a bit unprofessional for a new business. Overall, I know the business will succeed as the rocky roads and muffin were gorgeous. The branding is also on point. I just think there needs to be a little more fine tuning before perfection is reached but I’m utterly convinced it will...

Worked in the food industry for about 16 years already. Didn't know the brand and I wanted to visit due the amount of talking in the Kent area. Went to a couple of Cherans shops and spent some time inside choosing their range of beautiful products.

The amount of fly in both of shops was insane, specially in one of them and couldn't find any fly light traps in both of the shops.

Not only food safety hazard but disgusting.

No blue rows whatsoever, one of the servers dried the blender cup with a toilet paper towel.

They use no identification on their kitchen tongs and allergens are not applied.

Me and my son, specially, that has a nut allergy are very disappointed. No allergens chart present in both the shops. However, Cherans is overall cute, but very overpriced for something that you can find recipes on YouTube or Facebook plus not customer/food focused. We’ve not actually visited the store yet, but I intend to with my 7 children on Wednesday after school! My review is to show appreciation to the dedication shown by Cheran and her team. The shop looks amazing (from the outside), the 5* hygiene rating - fab achievement, blue light card offers for us NHS/frontline workers! Longer opening hours, and open at weekends too for those of us who do long shift work! And NOW! Cheran has even established a delivery service which I will defo be using for treat nights as it’s not always easy to get all 7 kids out at once!

I have to say, from everything I’ve witnessed so far, this bakery is an absolute asset to our town and Cheran is a lovely girl! Its just wonderful to be able to watch the journey of Cheran as the owner, but also the Bakery itself and all its branding, both online and as a local resident.
