McDonald's — Restaurant in Borough of Wyre

I spend alot of time in Fleetwood with my family as we own a holiday home close by. On numerous visits we have been disgusted by the quality of food at off peak times. If you visit during the day the quality is acceptable a little slow perhaps. We always ask for our order to be made from fresh and we don't mind waiting. Often our order has been taken wrong when using the drive through and we then have to return to the counter and queue to get it corrected whilst the rest of the order is going cold. On my most recent visit Friday 19/06/09 we arrived 20 mins before closing. Because of our previous problems I made it quite clear and asked for the food to be prepared from fresh.. We waited and parked up and some 15 mins later just before closing our food was brought. We immediately drove from Mcdonalds fleetwood to our caravan about 1 Mile away and promptly dashed in to took into our food. We opened the bag and found soggy warm fries cold burger buns and bouncy chicken nuggets. Also my wife's Mac Chicken Sandwich was missing again. Perhaps Hamburgler took it! I immediately contacted the restaraunt as this was not the first time this had happenned and spoke to a manager or supervisor who was more interested in dooing something else rather than talking to a disatisified customer on the phone. I politely explained the problem and was told to wait a moment. I waited whilst the phone was put down for some 4 or 5 mins. whilst she went to check with her staff. What for! Why would I be on the phone is my order was correct and hot. Obviously we decided there was no way we were consuming old cold food that was quite clearly the last of the day. Upon her return I was told that the food was cooked from fresh and it could not possibly have been cold. I looked at my receipt at the order was taken at 10:39 and our food arrived shortly before 11pm and it was now 11:11 after i've waited for her to get back to me. I explained that i would like the order replaced as this was not the first time mistakes had been made. She said no problem. but they are now closed so just put the cold food back in the bag and and when I produce the old food the following day they will replace my order there and then. This was no good. This meant i had to go back to get a meal that I wanted the day before, the day after i purchased it and to also bring my family along to eat it when i produced the old cold food from the day before...... Obviously I could'nt beleive my ears and ask her to repeat what she said. Then she repeated in a manner as if i resembled a child. Stunned I just gave up and told her that I would indeed complain as I found this behaviour totally unaceptable. To this she was not interested. I've just wrote a letter to Macdonalds along with my receipt so that they can ensure that this kind of slack, pathetic behaviour for customer services is high lighted and corrected quickly.

A word of warning!! BAD COLD FOOD, BAD SERVICE, TELL YOU TO BRING COLD FOOD BACK THE FOLLOWING DAY GET FISH N CHIPS INSTEAD.....

The food is usually Luke warm. There's always lots of staff running around but you can be the only customer in the place and they'll still keep ignoring you, running around keeping the drive in customers happy. In short...if you want serving quickly in this FAST FOOD restaurant then choose the drive in route.

UPDATE: Now it's been renovated it's worse. It's like all the other versions of the place where you order your own food then wait till your number is called. I hate that. It's even less speedy and it's awkward. Plus since the renovation the quality of the meals I've received is bad. Luke warm, terrible & shoddy food presentation. Today I ordered a bacon and egg muffin meal, got to work, opened it up, no bacon! I will never visit this restaurant again no matter how hungry I am.

My mum went in recently at 11.30am for the only thing she likes from McDonald's, which is a chocolate milkshake, only to be told there were no milkshakes. She also said the attitude of the child serving her was dismissive & miserable. So not only should you consider the points above but also that it is badly managed as well.
