Turners Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Borough of Wyre

Looking forward to fish and chips supper at the beginning of weekend away in caravan. We arrived at the 'local' chippy to order. To my amazement, the young lass taking order started to 'log' our order on laptop....with long silence as she was entering order. I asked for my order 'fish with peas and curry served together' and separate chips, I informed the young lass twice as she did not appear to understand. There was 4 people working- we hardly heard them speak to each other and certainly no communication with the customers. We sat in our car after getting out order - and with surprise - found my fish wrapped separate, chips in a tray (wrapped separate) and curry also peas in the smallest of tubs - separate! Goes to prove that all the technology hinders real communication! Why would orders need to be entered onto laptop? Surely it would be easier to just 'speak' with your work colleagues and also your customers! I doubt very much that we will be visiting this chippy again, which is a shame because the food was not bad. But I do like good service and you definitely don't ...

Was in the area on holiday and I first drove past this chippy I was impressed by the artwork on the exterior. I decided that it may be worth a pit stop considering I was on the hunt for some dinner.

And I have to say, it was 100% worth the stop.

Ive tried a lot of fish and chip places in the past and this has to be up there with one of the best. The chips were cooked perfectly, with a satisfying slight crunch to the exterior but a soft and fluffy inside.

The sausages are great quality and we were able to get one freshly battered. Not something I'd normally pick up on, but the batter was fantastic.

Unsure whether the curry sauce is bought in or made on site but every chippy needs to take notes on either how to make it, or where to source it because that was also great.

The staff / family inside were lovely and clearly care about their customers.

STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!! Extortionate prices for the portion sizes! What happened to fish chips peas and gravy for around £5 now you have to take a mortgage out to get enough gravy to pour over your chips. Ridiculously over priced grease would highly recommend you stay clear. On the toilet half way through eating it that's atleast £10 down the pan.

Not being funny but as a buisness owner and to get a reply like that in that manner you know that there is truth in my statement. You don't respect your customers all you care about is making money even if it means cutting corners, overpricing, undercutting on portions and not cooking your food correctly making numerous customers ill. Like I said before to everyone if you get chance to read this before going to this horrendous chip shop AVOID IT...
