Shockingly bad really.. Took 45 minutes for a sandwich and a slice of toast. No apologies about the wait when it arrived. To be fair there was a sign saying there was a 45 minute wait, but I queried this and was told it could be around 30 minutes, but that they couldn't imagine a sandwich would take that long. When the sandwich finally arrived, it was missing the ham. Asked for and received a refund. Price was, very expensive for what it was, even if there was ham involved! Plus side was the location.

Wow what a nice surprise! We ate in the riverside cafe and had the cheese & onion pie with veg, we wasn’t expecting much from it for £10.50, but it was one of the best ‘roasts’ I’ve eaten out! By far better than any carvery I’ve been too. The cakes looked amazing as well, such a large choice! To top it off you’ve got a gorgeous view of a river whilst eating and drinking coffee, 10/10 recommend and will definitely be returning.

Sunday lunch at the Riverside Cafe. Plenty to choose from including a good vegetarian selection and generous servings of veg to accompany, including creamed cabbage which is fab. Adequate seating to cope with demand, plus attentive staff keeping everything clean and tidy. If this review was helpful, please be kind enough to click the button below

I hate leaving negative reviews but this experience took the biscuit. Granted it was Xmas week so it was busy but when the staff move at a snail's pace (possibly leaving a silver trail behind them), it's not going to help things. Took ages to be seated by someone who really didn't want to be there but sadly that was the peak of our visit. We were told that someone would be with us shortly but after half an hour after being seated, nobody even looked us in the eye. We waited and waited and kept saying "give them another five minutes" but when it hit forty minutes and the speedless server went to take the order of a table seated after us, that was the final straw. All it would have taken was an acknowledgement that they were really busy and that they would be with us as soon as they could would have bought them all the time in the world but alas we were not entitled to that small courtesy. Ironically on the way home, we stopped off at Subway as we were very hungry and looking forward to Willow's food and again, Subway was busy but a friendly smile and a few words to let us know that they'd be with us as soon as possible was all that it took to take our money. My Wife and I are the easiest people going and we have never left anywhere without being...

What's happening with the Afternoon Tea at the Willows Restaurant? Is someone on a cost cutting drive? Usually there is so much food that you need a Take Home box but this time there was just enough....3 1/4 sliced sandwiches, small cup of soup...no pie or sausage roll, a scone, butter, jam and cream and 4 tiny cakes...y friend ate everything but one tiny cake. I asked for a box for my scone simply because I was too busy chatting to eat. I didn't think it was worth £16....an Afternoon Tea is supposed to be a sumptuous feast...it used to be. Quite disappointed. I'll be going to Scorton Barn in future and paying £18...for that you get tons. Staff absolutely lovely, everything tasted lovely but it felt...
