The George — Restaurant in Bradford

Have been to the George Pub after 25/30 years absence due to bringing up a family who now frequent the pub every weekend and during the week for quiz night. We then chyose it for the funeral wake of my late husband and last Christmas day I spent a couple of hours with my daughter, my children decided to throw a surprise party for my Birthday and today was a party for my much loved daughter in law and son for their baby shower each and every occasion was made special for us for each reason. The pub has a warm vibrant mix of all ages which I think makes a good pub one you will visit again and again we had a buffet today which had quite a good variety and our children often like to go down for a meal at the pub with friends and so I have been told the meals are of good quality and very reasonably priced. The only one fault I have is that there is no actual disabled access and being a wheel chair user I have to resort to using my crutches but as .that is the only fault I will certainly enjoy some...

Hot day so decided to have tea at The George. Beautiful beer garden so had a couple of drinks outside first. Great little play area for the kids decked area to sit on and tables aplenty spread across the grass. Could have eaten outside, decided to go in. Nice and clean and spacious bar area. Great little games area, pool table and dartboard. Service impeccable, all staff fantastic. Food was delicious. I had chilli my wife the hunter's chicken. Generous portions, I said she could have asked for half the amount of chips and still left some! One let down, and silly as it is, reason for four stars not five; no Tabasco sauce! We came in for a 50th birthday. Table service was efficient and friendly - a special shout out to Ella who was lovely. Most of the party ordered rib eye steak. Ella then brought out peppercorn sauce (which we hadn't ordered) as the chef said you can't have steak without peppercorn sauce so I whipped some up for you. What more can I say?
