Just returned from there - left the vast majority of my meal on table 3. I have heard some good reviews from folk I've known - so went in today - expecting nothing great, but a bit better than you would get at a local cafe serving all day breakfast. Whilst waiting to be served at the carvery - most of us in the que, were watching the flies landing on the food - the squares of stuffing seemed a popular choice with them.... Now I'm not one of those folk who like to pile food high on the plate - So I had Beef - that's what it was described as, 1 small Yorkshire Pudding, a portion of garden peas which looked as though they had seen better days; A portion of sliced carrots - woody in the middle and crinkled at the edges; A rather weak and anemic looking portion of Cauliflower Cheese; 2 under cooked - under heated Roast Potatoes... Now I did ask for a square of Stuffing from the bottom - Hmmmm..... obviously the the chap serving didn't quite understand that and duly gave me the one with a daring fly still sitting on it... By this time I was less than impressed. I adding a small ladel of gravy, then returned to my table (table No. 3) - The beef had little consistency and no real taste. The one Yorkshire Pudding was like they had tried to dry out damp cardboard in an oven, and the bit of Cauliflower Cheese that I did have, was the same consistency of over boiled cabbage, and tasted of very little... After just a few morsels, I eventually gave up - The food simply wasn't appetizing and the only things which had any real interest in it were the flies which were coming in through the open patio doors. Now I didn't complain - An almost full plate having been left behind, should be enough of an indicator as to my thoughts. I see you have to give at least I Star to post this... Sorry - on this occasion 1 Star was being far...

I booked the table on line for 4 adults.in the additional info notes I said we needed 1 high chair. When I arrived the table has 3 chairs plus a highchair. When I said it was for 4 adults I was told something along the lines on " love it when people book tables wrong" I immediately explained how I booked online and was told " we see that as 3 adult's and 1 high chair, next time add 5 adults. Firstly this should never be a response to a customer query re a missing seat. Secondly how in earth can a 4 adults plus additional high chair booking even be considered as that's a table for 3 adults and a high chair?! Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. My feedback for your member of staff is do not say the first thing that comes into your head, take a minute and say "No problem will get you another chair." No need to even say what she did was godsmacked if i am honest. Feedback for bookings made on line, add something that allows customer to books adults, children and high chairs. Very poor service from this member of staff. As for the food it was average nothing stood out, did not have all 4 meats due to beef and turkey looking like they were cooked the week before. I do not normally leave bad reviews but this needed to be said. A very unforgettable experience and not for...

Very disappointed to find the gluten free menu is not actually adequate for someone who is celiac. Came here with my 12 year old son who has celiac disease, prior to enquiring about a GF menu. Placed our order for a mix grill with chips, to then be informed the order can not be fulfilled as the GF fryer had been used to fry non GF scampi. We decided to replace the chips with mash. Order placed and paid for, to then be informed the mix grill can only be cooked in the oven as the grills had been used to toast bread. Upon requesting the meat to be cooked in a frying pan, the reply was “we are unable to use a frying pan as it was already in use”. Very very disappointed. I will not be coming here again. Please do not offer GF menus if the staff are cross contaminating cooking equipment that is supposed to be used to provide a GF menu. This establishment clearly does not fully cater for customers with celiac disease.

Response to your reply ..

A piece of scampi accidentally fell in the GF fryer. If you are going to lie please come up with something that is actually believable. Pretty sure you said as I was placing the order “ let me just go check and make sure they haven’t cooked something else in the GF Fryer” that suggests to me it is a regular occurrence. But it...

Love comming here for carvery, find it much better than Toby, and the dinning area is much more relaxed. As far as the carvery goes it's a standard offering nothing to shout about but if you are in the need of a feed at a reasonable price it hits the spot. The main menu sounds amazing but haven't tried anything off it as yet but saw other people's orders and they looked good. My only quibble was that I paid for a large carvery and TBF got extras but all served on a standard plate??? So not much room for veg etc. Place is easily accessible for all and staff very helpful.

We go in for a carvery every now and then. The food is always good and it's never too busy. Edit... So, for the 2nd time in a row, the quality of the food was shocking. Before the quality issue, I just could clean my plate. Today, I had to leave most of it. We came for 12.00, hoping things would be a s fresh as they could. Food tasted like it was warmed up. It was hard, and the beef had a funny taste to it. My wifes food was the same except the potatoes were not edible as they were burnt. I've always had a rule, 1 bad meal happens, but 2 then I don't come back.
