Upon arrival our room was 26.5 degrees celsius, despite having two old noisy fans already running when we entered. By the time we unpacked it was 27 and unbearable.||Our two boys, said that they felt they could not sleep in a room this hot or noisy. Andrew, my husband went to reception where he was told, that nothing could be done, all the rooms were like this. ||At 11.45pm, our eldest who suffers with eczema and asthma woke in tears due to being too hot. He needed his inhaler and I decided to take him downstairs where we sat in the lobby to cool down. This was really distressing and upsetting. There was a different receptionist at this point, who explained the same again, nothing could be done.||When we returned to the room, we wandered down the Premier Plus corridor, it felt remarkably cooler.||I decided to take the large duvets out of the sheets and this helped. We used cold flannels and all 4 of us laid naked (not ideal), none of really slept.||In the morning we spoke with the receptionist about our bad night, she again said nothing more could be done. I questioned why the Premier Plus area seemed cooler and despite her just saying there was no air con in the building, she then went on to say Premier Plus rooms had air con. I asked why we could not have been moved, and she said they weren't for families.||We have family in Norfolk and stay regularly with Premier Inn, normally the Norwich West, Showground site and have never experienced anything like this before.||We called Premiers guest relations this morning only to be told this was not covered by the 'Good night guarantee'. This is because the room does not include air conditioning, so the temp of the room is not covered in the guarantee. When we booked we had no choice but to book this room as it was the only room offered to families. This is...
Read moreI stayed here for 4 nights and I wouldnât choose to stay here again. I had a car so it wasnât too hard for me to get around, but itâs a bit of a distance from shops if you need anything.
My room was ok, with access to a hair dryer and an iron on request, but the heating stayed on for all of five minutes before it switched off again. Luckily I had my hot water bottle and thermal socks so it wasnât a massive issue.
There was a good range of cooked breakfasts, but for the self serve, I had to hunt for clean plates and Iâm not referring to water stained plates, but dried egg and toast stained ones.
The over priced evening meals was a real let down. I had the macaroni cheese and the smallest bowl of side salad, which had the inedible lettuce head stuffed at the bottom of the minute bowl and the garlic bread was only toasted on one side. I got back late the the following day and decided Iâd caught the chef on a bad day previously, so as there was no fish dishes available again, I had the veggie sausages and Yorkshire pudding. It was brought to me uncovered, even though Iâd explained I would be eating in my room, I had to ask for a tray and condiments and the meal was missing the onions. As tiredness overtook the ability to make a fuss (plus I always worry about what could be done to food returned to the kitchen), I went back to my room and was so disappointed with the rock hard Yorkshire pudding, sausages that had been cooked on one side and the gelatinous excuse for gravy. Whilst I didnât expect Michelin star meals, for the price, I did expect decently cooked and edible food.
So I had a basic, but functional room that lacked heating, but if I was forced to go back there, Iâd avoid the...
Read moreI stayed at the Thetford Premier Inn for a number of weeks whilst working in the area, and I genuinely couldnât fault a single aspect of my time here. From the moment I checked in to the day I left, the experience was consistently excellent.||The rooms were spotless, well-maintained, and extremely comfortable. Everything I needed was provided, a proper desk space for evening admin, plenty of power points, a good strong shower, and a bed that genuinely made a difference to my rest after long, physical days. Itâs clear the housekeeping team take great pride in their work, the rooms were cleaned to a high standard and always felt welcoming.||But what really set this stay apart was the staff. Every single member of the team, from reception to housekeeping and everyone behind the scenes, was absolutely brilliant. Warm, friendly, and always professional, they created an atmosphere that genuinely felt like a home away from home. No request was ever too much trouble. Whether it was arranging early check-ins, offering local advice, or just a warm âgood morningâ every day, their customer service was exceptional. You can tell they care about people, not just bookings.||Itâs rare to find such consistently high standards in both accommodation and service, especially at such an affordable rate. For anyone staying in the area, whether for work or leisure, I would highly recommend Thetford Premier Inn without hesitation. They made what could have been a tiring and routine work trip into something comfortable, easy, and even enjoyable.||A big thank you to the whole team, your effort does not go unnoticed. Iâll absolutely be booking here again if Iâm ever...
