I recently ordered 4 Masala Fishes and 7 bread naans from this establishment. Unfortunately, the food was extremely disappointing. The fish had skin coming off, and the bread was fully burnt, making it inedible. Furthermore, the fish was not properly cooked, and I even found a hair in one of the pieces. The overall experience was totally unhygienic. Sadly, the food was so bad that we couldn't eat it and had to throw the entire order away in the bin. To make matters worse, this disappointing meal cost me £20. I would strongly advise against dining here, as the risk of food poisoning seems high. I am extremely dissatisfied with the quality of food and service, and I will be taking further action by reporting this incident to the relevant food and hygiene authorities.

One of the seemingly few places selling chapli kebabs in Bristol, so thought I'd pay it a visit. On first sight, it looked like any other rundown take away, so was surprised to see a 4/5 food hygiene rating. I ordered a massive chapli (£4, no naan) and a samosa (£1), thinking the former would be nice, and the later so so. However, was horrified to see the guy using his bare hands to handle my salad, and all my other food. Pretty nasty. On the flip side, you can pay by card if total is more than £5, and there are a few tables inside. Nothing high quality, but passable. In terms of the food, it actually wasn't too bad. Nicely spiced and with a decent taste. Parking is atrocious by the way.

Authentic afghan kebabs, spicy curries and big portions. All at really low prices at good quality (3 chicken shish, nan and drink costs only £2.99). You won't be disappointed with the food, just don't expect a high end restaurant experience, this is down to earth casual dining done well.

Updated review: Revisited to give this place another try in Ramadan. Since becoming Chaudhrys Hot Spot, it has improved with food quality again and providing a better portion of food. Quality was good and naans were excellent. To improve, they could work on the atmosphere for the eating area to feel more welcome, particularly for families as it seems only young men come here to eat in.

Original review: Used to be excellent prior to be taken over by new management. Now flavour is often variable, with increasing price which is a letdown. Food isn't always fresh and hygiene seems to be hit and miss. Main thing is takeaway tubs seem to be full of oil and little meat. Hotspot needs to incentivise its regular customers back to what it...
