Let me start by saying I love the food here - it's spot on. The service not so much. I was told off before being allowed to place my order last time I went in. My crime? Holding a pouch of rolling tobacco in my hand. Now I accept there's a sign up stating they don't allow meat, alcohol or tobacco on the premises, but I was merely transferring some old baccy into a new pouch. I wasn't smoking. I wasn't drawing attention to it. I was in fact in the process of putting it away when a mature member of staff ticked me off with the tone of a teacher talking to a naughty pupil. Before allowing me to order some of his food, he made a point of lecturing me about his rules. I wasn't there to worship or learn more about a culture or religion that I don't follow - I was there to get fed - and Jeevan's exists to feed people. Surely it is more important to most businesses to treat their customers with respect than to fastidiously apply silly rules? If he had taken my order and then mentioned at the end that he'd seen my tobacco and made the case for why it is a problem on his premises, I'd have been a lot more accepting of it. Instead he decided to role-play the part of a primary school teacher. His rules are all good and well, but tobacco isn't illegal and I'm sure there are dozens of people who go in there with concealed tobacco (or more exotic alternatives perhaps - this is Easton after all) on them all the time. What annoys me most is that next time I want a really awesome veggie samosa, Jeevan's will be off limits because of the bad taste left in my mouth by this...

Read more1star only because no option for 0stars. Few days back we went to eat some sweets. Took 2 pieces of Gulab Jamun, and they handed us in plastic bags. If you don't have small box, tell the customers before we don't serve in small quantities extremely disrespectful to serve a customer in plastic bags. Today I called them up asking for the tiffin services. They told me you can bring Tiffin on from your house and then we do that. Did not specify over the phone that there has to be a particular Tiffin. That meets, their "standard" took me 40 minutes to go to place. Then they specify that a tiffin has to be according to their "standard". Extremely rude stuff. Rather starve yourself then eat here. Never have such a horrible experience anywhere.
If you have any terms and conditions do specify over the phone. If someone calls you or, mention it...
