Drapers arms
We had been in the Thai Restaurant next door and were keen to get into The Drapers Arms before they closed (9.30pm they call last orders).
This is a quirky little Micro pub at 447 Gloucester Rd.
Its a one room venue (Max 40 people) that offers a range of real ales (sadly they have stopped selling real Cider as they just didn't shift enough, so ignore what it says on the web site).
They don't have a Juke Box, a TV or Wifi, they don't sell hot food but you can get a pickled egg.
They have an incredible range of beers and the customers looked like they knew their stuff.
Its worth checking the web site to get some background on this place as it has a bit of history.
I'm not a beer drinker (though I was tempted) but my mate sampled 3-4 different beers before settling on one but then he forgot its name, so it seems we have to go back again to check it out.
Great atmosphere, nice environment full of character.
This is an idea place for a good night out and to sample a few beers.
There were plenty of women in the bar so its not a male dominated environment.
It looked clean and welcoming.
Well...
Read moreLovely pub, and friendly staff most of the time, unfortunately during our most recent trip we where told to âshut upâ and âf**k offâ by a young lady behind the bar. Seems like if you are not a regular (or a middle aged white man) at this pub, you do not get treated with respect by some staff members. This issue was raised with the manager but we where made to feel like our complaint wasnât taken seriously, and not respected - resulting in the manger telling us to leave, and didnât believe our genuine complaint, refusing to take it up with said member of staff. Such a same as it is a lovely, cute pub, with great beer selection, but seems to be riddled with accent/ race bias and a feeling of âstrangers not welcomeâ - unless you are a regular or friend of the manager/ staff, I wouldnât suggest coming here and you will be made to...
Read moreWe had decided on a trip to Bristol to sample real ale and this establishment had been highly recommended by our local micro pub owner. We arrived just after opening time on a Thursday (St Davidâs Day) and were warmly greeted by the owner. First impressions on entering were this is just how a micro pub should be. We certainly werenât disappointed excellent beer selection, friendly clientele perfect snacks to enjoy with your beer. Sadly we only had time for a couple of pints before catching the bus back to Temple Meads Station for our journey back Romsey Hampshire. We all plan to return and will recommend to our friends. In summary the perfect Micro Pub in every aspect !! If only we...
