Terrible customer service. Real shame as used to love this butchers. Great meat and service. Sadly, since Mike retired things have changed. Ordered a fresh duck in early December for collection for the festivities to only be told at collection that 'it wasn't there' and they only had frozen. Whilst frustrated by the situation as there had been no communication to let me know and no real apology for the inconvenience. They assured me they could get me a fresh one for the following afternoon so I appreciated mistakes happens and I had a day spare before it was needed so another day would be fine. Just to avoid a further wasted visit I telephoned them the afternoon of the following day to see if the fresh duck was in. I was again told they only had frozen delivered that morning. There was no apology for the situation and wider inconvenience. When I explained I don't think it was unreasonable for me as a customer to be let down by the customer service as again no communication that morning to let me know the situation as I could have had a further wasted visit, the staff member was only defensive and reiterated it was out of their control. There was no suggestion on how they could attempt to put the situation right, discount on a frozen duck (not that that would have helped due to now needing it the next day), apology for lack of communication, anything. Only me being made to feel that the duck not being there when I ordered it with plenty of notice was some how my problem and 'they had frozen and I could just let it thaw out'. There was no empathy only a patronising and rude employee/owner. The whole experience has sadly meant I will not use them again or recommend them to others. After using the butchers for many years I am certain I wouldn't have experienced such a series of poor customer service...

Used this butcher a few times in the past and it was always good. However I rang up to see if they had any ostrich steak and was told they did. I then drove across town to pick it up. Once I got home and started to defrost it I saw that it was precooked!! I have never bought a precooked steak from a butcher and didn't think it was possible. I had no choice but to use it and it tasted like you would expect any precooked steak to taste rubbery and tough. The next day I rang and spoke to the shop owner who's customer service was shocking! He didn't care and said "well it labeled isn't it" and didn't seem to care that he had an unhappy customer. When I said I wouldn't be going there again the owners response was "fine". I have since found out its the same as you can buy from Iceland and its cheaper in there. Poor product and over priced but most disappointing was the owners attitude. I won't be...

The thing that grabs you first is the FRIENDLINESS (YES - this is a friendly butcher!) and then you look at the choice!

They have such a fantastic range of meats and I like to buy from their massive range of domestic and international game. This is meat that has had a perfect wild existence, so it’s even ecological, as well as cruelty-free!

I could try to list all of their counter produce but seeing is believing. You just don’t see this range and quality anywhere else. They even do mixes for stir-fries and their marinated meats are very addictive!

Did someone say “sausages”? Well I’ll tell you - my favs are their handmade Toulouse… OMG! I could live in them!
