My husband and I went for dinner last night. I chose the Indian Junction because I drive past it on my way to work and wanted to try it. I'm so glad I did. A lovely warm welcome on arrival, drink order taken very quickly and a nice chilled glass of wine was in my hand not long after. We ordered poppadoms, which were fresh and the dips were lovely. We then ordered street food as a starter and they were delicious. The ingredients were so fresh. We then shared our main meal with some dishes. We had vegetarian tikka masala, rice, bombay aloo and garlic nann bread and it was outstanding. I never finish my food usually as I am always so full but the food was so light and not greasy that I finished my whole plate. I felt like I could taste the ingredients which sounds silly but I could pick up the ginger, garlic, coriander etc which was so lovely, as opposed to just having your main ingredient ie chicken, lamb or vegetables (I am vegetarian) covered in sauce and that's it. The staff were very friendly and checked on our meal with care and genuine consideration. We asked for a break in between our starter and our main course and this was no problem. We shared the mango ice cream for our dessert and it was outstanding so refreshing after our main course. We will be making the Indian Junction our regular Indian restaurant of choice from now on (and that is after years of going to our local indian). Well done Indian Junction, you are running a great restaurant and we wish you long term success. Highly...
Read moreFrom the moment we stepped into Indian Junction, we knew we were in for something special. The ambience strikes a lovely balance between warm and stylish — the décor is inviting, the lighting gentle, and there’s a buzz that promises good things without feeling overwhelming.
Service was excellent. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, happy to walk us through the menu, suggest dishes, and tailor spice levels to each person’s preference. It made all the difference.
Now, onto the food — simply outstanding. Every dish we tried had depth, full flavour, and freshness. The garlic naan was superb — perfectly blistered, soft where it needed to be, with that smoky tandoor edge that’s hard to get right. The mains we sampled were equally impressive; each curry showed attention to detail, lots of layered spice, and excellent balance. Also worth a special mention are the starters and street-food choices — exciting, inventive, and great for sharing.
Portions are generous without being overwhelming, and the value for what you get is very fair. Whether eating in or ordering for takeaway, Indian Junction delivers quality consistently.
If I had one small critique, it’s that when the restaurant is very busy, there’s a slight lag in getting drinks and starters, but the food more than makes up for the wait.
All in all — a top-quality local Indian restaurant. Warm hospitality, vibrant flavours, and just the kind of place that turns a meal into an experience. Highly recommended, and I’ll...
Read moreMixed feelings about our visit here. The food was generally very good, the starters in particular were excellent. It was however too spicy for our kids (who are ok with a bit of heat), both the butter chicken and lamb biryani were really quite hot. To the staff's credit when we ordered some extra non spicy food it came very quickly, despite them being very busy, however a few other elements of the service really weren't up to standard. The waiter dropped a pot of sauce over my coat, jeans and shoes when collecting plates after starters - I got an apology, and extra serviettes only after asking - not great! We waited a long time between starter and main - it was busy but it was annoying sitting there watching takeaway after takeaway going out with no food in front of us. Finally, and worst of all, when we got the bill we realised we'd not been given one of our starters. On raising this with the staff the manager insisted that we'd had the dish (all of £5.50 from our bill of £180!) and only eventually and very grudging agreed to remove it from the bill. He then checked with the kitchen and realised we'd not had it and apologised but not before souring the...
