I love this cafe in a lot of ways and really I go there all the time but I cannot in good conscience rate it more than 3 stars.
The food is nice, the drinks are alright, they have some really interesting and posh local produce, however… the serving time is very slow, even for things that really shouldn’t take more than a few minutes: for example order a sausage roll (which they have on display) to go and it takes them about as much time to warm it up and put it in a bag as it would take someone to just make it from scratch. The space is quite cramped also and they don’t have wi-fi either which maybe I shouldn’t expect, but let’s be real everyone kind of does in this day and age. Since they’ve opened (which hasn’t really been that long ago) they have changed so much staff I can’t even keep up with it; that to me is kind of concerning and it does make me wonder. One of them was saying they work really long shifts so maybe that’s the reason.
Overall lovely in many ways but could definitely use some...
Read moreA hidden gem by the river! Gorgeous little coffee shop with a truly charming atmosphere.. Think fairy lights, fresh flowers, and a view that looks out over the river. It may be small in size, but there’s plenty of seating, making it a cozy yet comfortable spot to relax.
The pastries, scones, and cakes are all freshly made and smell absolutely divine. I had a slice of carrot cake along with a coffee , both were delicious and clearly made with care. One pleasant surprise was their selection of frozen homemade pizzas from The Brick Company is such a unique and impressive touch!
They also serve waffles, pizza, and a variety of other tempting dishes that looked out of this world. The service was outstanding! friendly, attentive, and even brought over a complimentary cup of water after our drinks. Little gestures like that really make a difference. Reasonably priced, too, which makes it all the more worth visiting. I’ll...
Read moreI was visiting friends in Norwich last month and stumbled across this absolute gem of a place, on the river... as the name suggests. Popped in for a coffee and pastry one hungover morning, which were both lovely, as were the friendly and welcoming staff. I actually ended up coming back later the same day for a charcuterie board and drinks in the sun out the front — perfection!
The selection of locally sourced beers and wines are fantastic, and it really felt like everything on offer had been carefully chosen from local producers. In a world where horrible global companies are destroying the high street, it’s a real joy to find somewhere that champions local businesses and does it so well.
Couldn’t rate River Green Pantry any higher — definitely...
