The staff were nice but a bit slow on taking our order. The food and drink really was a bit of a disappointment though. We both decided that if you're going to have hot chocolate it might as well be special so we had the deluxe hot chocolate for £4.10. It wasn't thin but also wasn't luxurious in any way with a small amount of cream on top, little enough that by the time it reached the table it was just a little foam around the mini marshmallows. We were out exploring the countryside and wanted to come in town to find a tea shop and although they may be a few in Alysham the lack of parking is awful! We found somewhere we could park for an hour so quickly popped in here! Fortunately the service was quite swift so we soon got served with our cream tea which was not only reasonably priced but delicious too! It was really busy today but we managed to find a table. After ordering our drinks and food our drinks arrived promptly followed by our food which was excellent. The staff were amazing and the building is steeped in history. We will definitely be returning and would recommend a visit. We have previously visited Biddys tea room and we felt that the staff were more friendly here.
