Kervansaray Restaurant — Restaurant in Broxbourne

Do not go here if you are booking a large booking. Booked a table for 25 people when we all arrived they only showed us a table for 16 people it took the reminder of the people standing to say what’s going on it’s meant to be for 25 people to then show us the other 2 tables was for us so we wasn’t all seated together. Was there over an hour with plenty of people coming in after us no bread or salad or dips like they usually give but every other table was given this. Has to go up and say what’s going on we have been here over an hour and all that’s happened is a drinks order for the waitress to say it’s because they was so busy which I told them so why has every other table been served and is now receiving their mains but we are sitting here with just drinks it’s not good enough, after this they shortly brought just bread and dips out and the mains. My nan ordered the sea bream which was full of bones and very salty to which she did not enjoy. The manager also kept going up to the younger kids asking them to leave as they wasn’t eating which was they was so we had to tell him to leave them alone. Sorry for the graphic picture but I've never had to literally spit food out! (Especially chicken!)

From the very first moment we sat down the waitress was the miserable looking person I've seen in ages. I asked her if the soup was thick or water based "normal" she had no idea.

we ordered the mix kebab, the chicken was undercooked they gave us a plate and re Cooked it (obviously made it dry) didn't even offer a fresh one.

we had 1 rib each and left the rest of the food. We asked for the bill, the waitress walked off so we had to ask again.

I've never ever left food as platters are very big in most Turkish restaurant, but this was the 1st time I just said No as the food was oily and tasteless.

honestly biggest disappointment, food for sure wasn't fresh tasting nor was the rice.

they also gave us the wrong bill after we waited! No one approached us so we wnt to the till to pay.

finally no tea or dessert offered! I've been to so many Turkish restaurant having lived in North London my whole life and travelled to Turkey on a regular basis... literally worst ever this was.

Came here to celebrate my mums’ birthday. Everything started off well and friendly at first with taking drink orders and then food, but then increasingly declined as the evening went on. When the time came to present the cake, we requested they bring it over as some of the group had to leave. 30 mins later and several requests, the cake gets dumped onto the table without the candles being lit, totally spoiling the surprise with how we wanted to present it to my mum (obviously already lit). It then took another 15 mins for them to bring a lighter, which was also dumped on the table for us to light ourselves. My sister-in-law queried why it took them so long to bring the cake if they weren’t lighting it, to which we received no response. Service was appalling, didn’t receive an apology or any acknowledgement of this when raised to them, so I requested the service charge be removed due to poor service, still no apology. The food was dry, I wouldn’t recommend this place at all! Lavaz and Gokyuzu are much better and the staff are friendlier, go...
