I went here for my sister's birthday especially for the Freddie Mercury tribute act as had been here before for previous tribute acts. The food was very tasty and the entertainment was good.

We ordered from the normal menu as there wasn't much selection from the set menu or food items that we liked. Last time we went just before Christmas we were allowed to order from the normal menu and not pay the set menu price of £30 per head.

My mum was forced to have a starter despite not even wanting one and they ordered all 3 meals at once.

When we came to paying the bill, the bill was £60 more than we expected as they charged us for 6 x set menu at £30 a head even though we didn't even order from the set menu meaning they were overcharging us. When we went to the waiter to rectify the problem, we were told that because my boyfriend ordered pizza which was on the set menu that we were all being charged the set menu price. I then went to speak to the manager of the restaurant and was completely lied to by the manager, waiter and other waiting staff. The manager said that they never allowed people to order from the normal menu (we were allowed to order from the normal menu last night) just the set menu and that this had gone on for 6 years despite being allowed to order from the normal menu about 6 months ago too. We were forced into paying £60 more and there was no offer of a small discount off the bill for the issues we had.

Customer service is bad here. The staff and manager are rude and greedy. They completely lied to us and will find anyway of getting more money from you....

Utterly disappointed with the diabolical experience we had tonight at Marcanotos. Table for 2 we ordered the Salmon Ravioli, Chicken Pesto Pasta and a side of chips.

Received the mains to discover underwhelming portions sizes with only 6 pieces of ravioli in the bowl and half were left empty and unfilled. Could still see the bottom of my bowl before I began eating. The Pesto Pasta was a lunch time portion size with a disgusting amount of cheese on top.

No checkbacks were made from our waiter, which prompted me to go up to the bar to order an additional dish for me and my partner to share as we were left hungry.

We asked for the bill but were ignored by another waiter, our waiter left us with a cluttered table of finished plates that he chose to ignore untill we asked him for the bill.

When he brought the bill over, we asked him to remove the service charge as we were disappointed with our experience, to which he narrowed his eyebrows and asked "why" after explaining we were not happy with our experience he refused to take off the service so my partner questioned it as service charge is optional, to which he bluntly replied "we did not have a choice, service was not optional and has to be paid".

Would not recommend this restaurant due to serious lack of service and disappointing food, we used to be regulars but won't be returning, will be informing friends, family and colleagues of our appalling evening at...

Ordered a calzone. It was literally just cheese, tomato and chicken. I asked the waiter if I ordered the wrong thing and if it's supposed to taste the way it does, he told me because I didn't order the beef it was my fault. He then said if your hungry order something else. It's not about being hungry. I don't go to a restaurant because I'm hungry, I go for a decent meal.

Now I understand it's a budget restaurant but all I want is a waiter to tell me about the food. The menu said the pizza has GARLIC, CHILLI, PEPPERS and ONION. There wasn't any. Literally none. It was chicken, tomato, cheese and bread.

I wish I had made the waiter bring over the menu and eat the pizza Infront of me but I was just trying to be polite.

I do hope they read this and act on it.

I think because we arrived at 10pm maybe the chef couldn't be bothered and just through together the easiest thing possible.

We tried our friends meals and they weren't great but ok for a cheap place.

Overall, if the waiter just listened to what I was saying, we would have resolved the issue. I don't want free food. I want good food.

Great good can be made for pennies. I know this isn't how the owner wants the meal to taste, it's a shame the waiter...

I went for a big group meal/evening. Staff were friendly and attentive. It was a friday night with a George Michael tribute act. We ate from the set three course menu which had a good amount of choice. I had the mushrooms and dough balls to start but I was a bit disappointed as it was meant to be garlicky and I dont think it tasted of garlic. There was also no sauce/butter for the dough balls. I had the kangaroo steak for main which was very nice! Very tender. And the lemon tart to finish was lovely. Entertainment was to be expected and was a fun evening all in all. Unfortunately the reaction of staff to one of my friends who found a hair in the cheese on her cheese board was not good. There was no apology, and they essentially said it must have come from her or someone on the table.

Just popped in for lunch and had a new pasta dish on the main menu. Started with a large peroni and an Aperol spritzer. First food item came , a garlic and cheese pizza bread to share. Nice amount of garlic without be overpowering. Right amount of cheese so as not to make it too greasey. Nice thin and slightly crusty dough base. Main lunch dish was a fussili and steak pasta with garlic ,chilli a white wine demi glaze ( almost like a gravy). Very tasty. We had another small peroni and a slice of banoffee pie. Altogether we had alarge peroni, a small peroni, an Aperol spritzer, a cheese and garlic pizza bread, two fussili and steak pasta dishes and a banoffee pie slice. Total price £53.80. A very enjoyable un rushed lunch.

First time here tonight and enjoyed every part of it! All of the staff are super friendly and fun. They always check to make sure you're enjoying the food and if you want anything. Really good service. Ali was fantastic! What a great guy!! Food was delicious. I will always get a tiramisu if it's on a menu and I can hands down say this was the best one I've tasted!! The portions of food were big and well worth the money. Fantastic set menu with lots to choose from, unlike other restaurants where choices are a lot more limited. We sat upstairs and had entertainment. The singers were great and the atmosphere was enjoyable. A really pleasant first experience and I'll happily return.. especially for the tiramisu!!
