I've lived in Nottingham for many years and tried many fish and chip shops, some good, some bad, some indifferent. So when I moved to the Stapleford side of town I decided to check out Andy's Fish Bar. I certainly wasn't disappointed. Judging by the fresh, white, flakey, meaty haddock and the perfectly fried chips I was served with, this place is the best I've found in Nottingham and ranks with the finest I've found elsewhere in the country too! Be prepared for a wait on “Fry day” night, and at quieter times, as your food is often cooked to order. There are cheaper days that can be a bargain. A wide range of chip shop favourites are available, including gluten free to order: note some items need to be ordered on entry to the shop, or phone ahead. Very disappointed with the Chips, We seemed to get the dregs all the small bits that looked and tasted like they had been there a while. Nor were they that hot when we got them home despite me putting them in a thermal bag. I think we ended up with the last ones of the last fry.
