Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Broxtowe

This is a full Costa coffee shop (not a storewithin a store), anyone that has ever been to a Costa would not know the difference from any other Costa. As always with Costa a good variety for any coffee/tea/hot chocolate/milkshake drinker. Service was excellent when ordering and drinks order no issues. Same snacks menu as all other Costa so again no issues Stars awarded is due to the lack of hand sanitiser which is as a Covid careful shopper I find important and alwaysuse on enteringand leaving a store (it was empty) and even though it was not particularly busy noticed that as customers left tables were left uncleared and uncleaned for quite a bit of time. I could only see 3 members of staff so again maybe this is a budgeting thing for not only Costa but a lot of businesses in the Covid era but from a personal perspective which is why I leave reviews walking in and searching for a clean table or having to ask for a table to be cleared is not my ideal venue. This would not stop me revisiting as I prefer to base my reviews on the overall service and experience (maybe they have more staff on busier days or have a shortage due to sickness) but if this was my regular Costa and a recurring problem I would be making...

I've given Costa three stars because although I particularly enjoy their blend of coffee and it is fairly consistent across it's outlets, i do think that they're going down the 'add more milk and charge the same ', route. It does seem that over time the cappuccino has turned into an overly milky latte, and the same is happening to the flat white. In order to get a decent coffee you now need to have a cortado. I wonder how long it will be before that turns into a giant latte. The cakes can be a bit inconsistent too, depending on how long they've been on display, a half dried cake with your coffee is almost as disappointing as an expensive...

Visited Costa this afternoon with a friend. We had two coffees and a toasted sandwich each. The service from one of the two staff members was pretty poor. I got the feeling she was just too busy and had too many things to do and forgot about the customer care/engagement that will have been given by Costa when she first started. I felt she was not to blame as the store was busy and there were only two people serving. That might explain why the toilets were in a bad state. Probably most disappointing was the tap.... not working which is most unfortunate given Covid. The coffee and toasted sandwich were...
