Dropped by on a Thursday night—turns out it was quiz night. No seats left inside, so we braved the great outdoors. We’d been spoiled with warm evenings lately, but of course, this one decided to be chilly just for fun. Thankfully, the table service was top-tier—shoutout to the brilliant duo (one guy, one girl) who made sitting in the cold totally worth it. The beer? As excellent as always. What a hidden gem of a place. Chris has done brilliantly to set up this warm, cosy and extremely friendly pub. It feels like a hub for the local community as well as being friendly to anyone (I live in Edinburgh but am a frequent visitor). Ales are typically all local (great for local economy and environment) and there is a great range of ales, stouts and cider that change routinely to keep it interesting. Lovely little real ale pub. Micro pubs are all the rage at the moment but often a little to Niche. Bird hide has all the charm of micro pubs but little bit bigger (nearly always get a seat). Lots of outdoor seating for when it's sunny.
