Acapulco's overall authetic Mexican feel is signposted by it's colourful stall sign which stands out out like an beacon within a very friendly, communal area of the Bolton indoor market.... we loved the whole experience of the lively hustling square of real ale bars and food stalls, with comfortable spacious wood bench seating, as market visitors were entertained by a wonderfully warmly welcoming, eccentric and very funny Cameroonian curry stall owner. Acapulco has been lauded locally for its offerings and value in the range of enchiladas burritos etc. since opening only last week. The friendly helpful owner/trader served up some very tasty tacos and a cheese sauce dip to accompany the mouthwateringly presented tacos and wraps... the menus offers beef chicken and veggie options, with spicy as you like sauces, salad, chillis and refried beans. All washed down with a freshly made berry smoothie. It was too tasty and I over-ate.... but I probably will do the same next time (!), and will certainly be trying the Cameroon jerk sea bream or salmon from the stall just around the corner...

I recently stumbled across Acapulco whilst visiting Bolton market i say stumble but you can’t miss its location right in front of the dining area conveniently situated near the bar. The vivid colours of this Mexican diner immediately draw you in as does the welcoming smile of the owner. I then grabbed a craft beer from the beer stall to enhance the Mexican experience starter was delicious so I needed more. She talked me through the menu and everything seemed very reasonably priced £5 or less I settled on a chicken tortilla with salad salsa chilles and a Mexican sauce all hot and delicious. The food was great service with a smile and most diners sat around me seemed to be lost in Acapulco. Maybe not the jewel in the crown maybe the salsa in the market. Time for another...
Read moreMy partner and I visited the food stall last night for the first time. In fact, it was the first time we had visited the market.
We were greeted by friendly staff at the stall and given information on where to sit and what mexican food was available (full menu).
The beef quesadilla was very tasty and spicy. The chilli con carne was tasty but my partner likes really spicy food so the ccc could have had an option of adding extra spices.
We received complimentary breaded jalapeño poppers, which tasted fantastic.
I also got a freebie....a small cheeky beef enchilada🥲
If you want a mexican and don't want to go into town or shopping centre then try this independent in...
