It was an absolute shambles, I had heard the food was good which is why my husband booked it for my birthday. I was really looking forward to this meal but things went downhill from the moment we arrived. The table wasn't ready so we decided to have a drink while we waited, after queuing at the bar for quite some time we got our drinks and sat at a table while we waited. Unfortunately for us it was also being used by waiters to store the menus, so while we were trying to have a conversation we were interrupted by waiters leaning across us every few minutes. After about 20 minutes, we were finally seated. As there was only two of us, we were sat at a table that appeared to have been squashed into the middle of two other tables. There were several parties who could be heard across the restaurant and we were lucky enough to be sat just a few tables away. We ordered our meals and received our Appetisers and Starter quite quickly. When the waiter cleared our table we ordered another drink, which after 20 minutes still hadn't arrived. After trying to get a waiters attention for approximately 5 minutes we asked about our drinks, the waiter went to the bar then came back and asked us again what we had ordered. At this point we had been kept waiting far too long so we asked for the bill. A waiter apologised as he knew we had been kept waiting and said if we would like to sit down he would go into the kitchen personally to get our food. When we declined the offer he asked for us to enjoy our main meals free of charge but we had already made the decision to leave. The waiter looked at the bill and said he wouldn't charge us for the starter and would only charge us for the drinks that we had ordered while at our table. We pointed out that those were the drinks that we had ordered but never received. So now my birthday meal is going to be breakfast at Morrisons as I know that will...
Read moreArmaan when your dining in the restaurant the food is very nice. Food is a nice, service is good I can’t complain on the times I’ve been recently. The takeaway side of the business is appalling, previously I’d had trouble with orders and been given fresh meals due to the incompetence of the kitchen. My father turned 80’on Father’s Day, unfortunately he’s not well at the min and has enjoyed visits to armaan before but this time I ordered for takeaway as it’s hard to get him out the house at the min . I ordered food but realised I’d ordered to a previous address I don’t live at anymore so rang them and said could I pick up. The lady on the phone said 45 mins, I was like ok I will wait hoping my mum and dad would enjoy the food. My partner went to collect and turned up 50 mins after the order was placed. had a family gathering for my dads birthday and she waited 50 mins sat inside the restaurant for 2 currys a rice 1 chips and 1 naan. Absolutely shocking she’d wait this long and when she returned we had a missing item. I rang explained the situation only to be offered the item to be cooked and we could collect. That’s no good in my opinion I asked for the manager to get told there in the kitchen busy, thought the chefs managed that side of things but was promised a call back after leaving my number. Was never called back, armaan is a nice restaurant to visit but on Father’s Day out of sheer greed they took too much on and they just took the absolute piss out of there customers not being able to fulfill there initial orders, if you can’t cope stop taking takeaway orders it’s not rocket science . Not the first time on the takeaway side of things and sure it won’t be the last. The lamb in the curry’s was extremely tough and not enjoyable at all after the poor food and service id struggle to go back there to even eat in...
Read moreThe Armaan used to be great but I visited on NYE as part of a group of 4 and we were really disappointed. After being seated, we got some drinks and some poppadoms were dumped on the table we were left for over an hour without a food menu. In the end we had to ask our clueless waiter who went and got them. This issue was not unique to us as in the end a different waiter came and took our food order along with several other tables who had been there for a similar length of time. The starters took a long time and when they arrived we weren't impressed (see photo) Who decided that this was worth nearly £30 a head we were paying for two courses? We then asked how long the main course would be and we were told it wouldn’t be long . After another long wait, we said we wanted to make a complaint and the food miraculously appeared (before another table who had been waiting longer). We were told that the delay was due to them ‘having to set up the DJ’. Considering that the DJ started playing 45 minutes early (he wasn’t due to start until 10pm according to the flyer) I don’t know why this was prioritised over customer orders? The DJ was another poor decision by the Armaan as the music was far too loud so we had to yell at each other to be heard. Who wants a DJ blaring out music when you’re having a meal?! Main meal was ok but the portions were smaller than usual. Our bill was completely wrong- they had overcharged us by over £100, charged for an extra round of drinks and not taken off a free round that they had promised because of the delays. We had booked for 8pm well in advance- I assume most of the sit ins and takeaways had also pre booked so they knew how many customers to expect. They should consider how much demand they can comfortably cope with instead of booking in as many customers as possible and letting the...
