Songbird — Restaurant in Bury

Visited this place for the first time this weekend, we were initially taken aback at how unfriendly the barman was, frosty is an understatement. The visit only got worse and was cut short due to two shrieking woman at the bar whose conversation drowned out everyone else’s. It’s a small venue so everyone noticed and opinions were quite clear as people proceeded to roll their eyes and walk out, yet the barman did nothing.

An inconsiderate man vaping at the bar also went unchallenged and went further to ruin the ambience.

It’s supposed to be a lounge bar, a calm relaxing space to enjoy the company of others over a drink, but the experience we had was far from it, It’s safe to say we won’t...

Came across Songbird by chance, after a birthday meal for my wife nearby. Thought we’d stop in for 1 drink and see how it was, ended up staying all night. Two factors played a part, the atmosphere, drinks and general feeling of the bar is very nice, it’s a small corridor style bar, but plenty of seating.

The other was the bartender, who on his first night was very good. He gave table service when he could, he made cocktails from memory and even coped as little problem popped up. He was a consummate professional. A fine bartender named Sebastian.

5 star experience. Amazing venue to host your special occasions. I organised a baby shower for my wife with Charlotte and had nothing but a positive experience from start to finish. Very professional, approachable and nice to liaise with. My wife and her guests really enjoyed the venue and Shaun on the bar was amazing throughout the day.
