Very disappointed. We have visited Hamilton’s on several occasions, but our visit last night was extremely disappointing. Having booked a table weeks in advance, for 7.30pm, we were told on arrival that we had just 5-10 minutes to quickly look at the menu and order our food, as the kitchen closed at 8pm. Food orders needed to be in before 7.50pm. This would’ve been fine if we had known this prior to the booking - we could’ve arrived earlier! We were greeted by a man who was almost ranting at us to ‘order quickly’ as the kitchen was closing. Not a very welcoming reception. Once ordered, we were told (by a very nice lady called Katie) that we could relax now and that the bar was open until 10pm, so no rush. This was not the experience that we got though. The same man from the start - called Max - began rushing us to eat our food and even attempted to take my plate away while I was still eating my meal! He told us on several occasions that the bar was closing and was continuously rushing us along. We were trying to celebrate a special birthday, so we were hoping for a relaxed evening, but we were made to feel like we were in the way. At 9.15pm, Max came over, once again, offering us the bill and asking if ‘we were all done’. He asked us this alot! I asked about the bars closing time, as were wanting coffees, and were told, ‘usually 10pm is closing time but if it’s quiet like this, we can get closed up earlier and get out’. We felt very unwelcome, so decided not to order another round of drinks. I spoke to Katie, who had been very pleasant all evening, about the rude man. She said he might’ve been grumpy as he had been on shift all day, but also that that wasn’t an excuse and apologized on his behalf. For the first time in 25 years, my husband refused to pay the service charge on our meal. It was a very frustrating evening and sadly that was our last visit...
Read moreI had a table booked for 7 people at 7 on a Saturday night, we were quickly seated and our drink order was taken, it only went downhill from here. After getting our drinks the food order was taken, after waiting 50 minutes we asked the waitress if our food was on the way she said she would check but never returned, we then asked another waitress who told us that our order was never sent through to the kitchen and it would be “rushed through”. After waiting another 10 minutes the manager came over and told us he was going to relocate us so he could look after us, this is something we never asked for and he sat us next to the door that was wide open. We proceeded to wait another 20 minutes and told the waitress we had been waiting well over an hour, this particular waitress had a bad attitude. She took out her iPad and told us there’s no way we had been waiting that long and she would “tell us exactly how long we had been waiting” to no surprise she told us it was 1hr20 minutes! She then tried to apologise and told us this had happened 5/6 times that night and the kitchen was backed up. After this long wait my friends and I couldn’t wait to get out of the place. To add salt to the wound the bill came over and it had an £18 service charge on, ridiculous! We will certainly not be returning and the manager needs to sort out how his staff...
Read moreI am not sure but this could be the worst food I have had such a long time . We had a lunch there with my kids this afternoon however we truly left the place hungry and unhappy . My 9 year old daughter has a gluten free diet she wanted to have chicken katsu curry without bread crumbs but we ended up dry, overly cooked a piece of chicken breast with fries (£11.99) not to mention dry chicken wings she had as a starter . Calamari we ordered was meh nothing special , 5 calamari rings placed on some salad and ready made tartar sauce . My son had classic cheese burger and he couldn't finish it as he said burger did not have any taste. I had kingprawn dish served with rice but what a surprise it was a the tiniest amount of (yes dry again )rice surrounded by five king (not) prawns with some strange creamy sauce . Also staff had this fake smile on their faces which I found it absolutely strange . We paid £60.40 for a failure lunch and I did not tip (of course ) I am not sure why but the gent who brought us the bill was not happy that we did not tip and he did not even bother saying bye. It would be nice to asked how the meal...
