What a gem! The Mill Coffee House is the perfect place for a great cup of coffee or a bite to eat. I visited this morning with my hubby and Dad. (I've been before, but my dad hadnt). When we entered he commented on how nice it was - he appreciated the decor and the feel of the space. It is table service and our order was taken in good time. We ordered three of the Big breakfass which include a brew of your choice. The food was really good - perfectly cooked poached eggs with a runny yolk (we visited the garden centre very nearby a few weeks earlier and received hard boiled poached eggs - even after sending them back), tasty sausage and bacon, and think toast (see pics of food). The cafe has a great atmosphere, thebstaff and smiley and friendly and bothe the food and coffee are excellent quality. Emma is the perfect host and this is a MUST VISIT place.

I experienced what felt like low-key racism or stigma from the staff. I'm not sure if it was directed at both me and my colleague or towards the person I was supporting. The staff couldn't offer us menus, but everyone who arrived after us was given one without any hassle. The waiting staff kept glancing at our table and whispering to each other. I eventually had to go and ask for the menu myself, but I sensed that I was inconveniencing them. After getting the menu, it took forever for them to come and take our order, and we had to remind them. When they did take our order, they only took one, and it took even longer. The person I was supporting has special needs, yet people who arrived after us and ordered the same food received their orders before us. The kitchen staff (the chef) ended up bringing our order after almost an hour and a half, but it was cold. He apologized to us, brought us some cutlery and sauces, but I'm not sure exactly what he was...

Little disappointed. Tried it for the first time. Place is nice, as we're the staff. We ordered 2 small breakfasts, a tea and a coffee. Still not served after 25 minutes, then lady apologised and said there was an issue with the sausages but not to worry the food was being plated up as we speak. Was still a further 15 minutes before we got our food. Visually the 1 small slice of bacon looked very dark, like it had been cremated but it was extremely tender to cut which was strange. I also found it very salty. Saying that the egg, toast, sausage and beans were nice, however, the tomato was so small.just about a quarter of a small whole tomato. Coffee and tea were OK. For £8 I would say it...
