I can’t believe people rated this place 4 stars, I got shocked and it destroyed our evening. I got there yesterday to take away, we ordered a lot of sushi for which we paid £107 …nothing to say on the price if we would have received sushi. After that I spent £14 for a bowl of noodles…costly but it was the only thing deserved. Noodles arrived after 5 minutes, sushi after 1 hour and sushi completely wrong!! There was effectively 2 pieces of sushi over 90 pieces ordered. All the rest, a bit of sashimi and all the remaining all urumaki whit veg or cooked meat or fish…. Therefore stuff that you can by in Tesco or take at tonnes at any All You Can Eat, because no freshly prepared and cheap to do. If this is not enough, everything was done really badly, 99% was rice! Service? Starting with soy sauce and wasabi…first time in my life I had to eat Japanese DRY ….they gave us almost nothing. For the rest, the place was empty and not busy at all, 2 persons were eating and 2 deliveroo collection came, but the items was already prepared and the guys left immediately. I counted at least 5 people in the kitchen, plus the cashier, plus other 2 guys to do I don’t know what. All that and I had to chase my food twice and obtain 1) wrong stuff 2) no sauce 3) noodles in 10 minutes and sushi in 60 ..therefore getting home and having to warm up noodles in the microwave 4) I SPENT THE PRICE I SPEND IN MANCHESTER AUSTRALASIA FOR A NICE DINE IN FOR 2 INCLUDING PROSECCO …we eat in 3 but McDonald quality Do we complete with the place? The full “restaurant “ including kitchen, smaller and more dirty than my garage. I didn’t used, but I have strong reasons to believe the bathroom was a luxury bathroom with sauna and hot tub since people from the kitchen use to spend more time there...

My experience is based on a takeaway order so it might not be fair to grade it the same as a dine in experience.

Positives

First of all, the staff were super polite, friendly and welcoming. They left a really good impression and I'd definitely go back based on their enthusiasm and professionalism.

Second, the quality of the fish was excellent. The cuts of sashimi were generous and delicious in equal measures. The meat was soft, oily and a pleasure to eat. It wasn't stringy, metallic or fishy.

Negatives

It's important to say that it wasn't a negative experience overall, but the two things that let them down and could easily be rectified are:

Variety

It's great having a 40 piece omakase, but if the contents are just tuna or salmon, you're eating the same thing with a different sauce. I would have enjoyed more variety of fish. Full disclosure, one of the maki rolls did have prawn inside.

Rice

The biggest issue with my order was the rice, it was very, very overcooked and pressed together to form almost a paste, there was little to no individual rice grains. Now, that might be because the rice was warm in the takeaway box? I'm not sure, but there shouldn't really be hot rice in the mix anyway. It was the poorest part of the experience overall, and took away from some really excellent fish.

I'd definitely go back because the fish, and the people (!) were great. But maybe I need to sit...

So the food was late by 15 minutes given that it was already going to take 90 minutes is pretty bad, but that's where the disappointment starts.

EDIT: I've just read all the comments, eat in is priorities, in quality and service the delivery is scraps and often bad/off/turned fish by the looks of it. Please read yourself but I do warn you.

This was the worst sushi by a country mile, the tuna was either not tuna and was rainbow trout or was bad, I mean the smell was bad, the texture was tough and grainy like it was frozen, while being mildly warm. The king prawn nigiri was bad, and I mean the prawn had turned on all 9 pieces.

The maki rolls were not great as they were very warm, since they were cucumber and avocado these were no good, at all.

From a £77 order our family binned we ate next to none of it and had a frozen pizza instead, our treat for the month was inedible, and pretty vile. The Ramsbottom branch is significantly better, this branch has been iffy but a decent replacement, however, we will never order from here again. If we get food poisoning through the night I'll update and pursue to shut...

Absolutely would not hesitate to go again. From the food to customer service, I can not fault the entire experience. There was a small amount of seating available which was clean and well presented, the staff were brilliantly helpful and so welcoming, and the sushi was delicious. This was my first time trying sushi as well, but they had such a good variety, and it was so clean that I definitely think it makes the experience more enjoyable. The katsu chicken curry and spicy chilli chicken noodles were top. Would definitely recommend visiting.

Very nice plate to eat out with vegan/veggie options. Quiet atmosphere with only a few tables so be aware of this if you have big family or prefer talking louder at your meals then this may not suit you, however they mostly do takeaway options so this may be why. Staff were friendly enough but fairly average service they seemed exhausted and didn't want to ask you how your day was or what they could do for you etc. sushi platters a bit more expensive than other places, presentation is decent though

Fantastic sushi, plus 15% discount on first order via the app! And they through in an Aperol Spritz freebie too. Just wish we were closer and could have it delivered! Ordered an hour and a half before, just in case as it was a big order and a Friday, but most of the time they say you only need to order 15-30m in advance as it's all fresh. Definitely recommended.
