Went to the new Starbucks in Caerphilly for the first time today. Drive through was empty, we had an Americano and a Chai Tea Latte plus a breakfast roll and cinnamon bun. Drinks made perfectly and process was speedy. I think it’s a great addition to Caerphilly and so pleased we have a Starbucks now.
We’ve had a good experience because unlike everyone else here leaving 1* reviews, we didn’t go when it JUST opened and was heaving. Obviously you were going to have a less than optimal time because it’s just opened in an immensely busy location in the middle of town. What are you expecting when it’s just opened and the staff are new and trying to get to grips with it all? What are you expecting when you can see the long queues in both the drive through and inside the coffee shop?
Give them a chance. Most new businesses have initial teething problems. Maybe consider the circumstances before making a 1* review because you had to wait while staff are running around trying to make the whole of Caerphilly coffees and...
Read moreOnly my second visit and not at all impressed. First time was the drive-thru and although it wasn't too busy, the young lady made it look as if serving me was a chore and she looked fed up. This time we decided to go in and ordered food and drinks. There were already a few people waiting for drinks, but still the order was taken. Food was heated up and handed over before the drinks were prepared. We then had a long wait for the frapps to be prepared and was told they had run out of cream. The tables had not been cleaned away from the previous customer. It seemed manic and there was no-one actually coordinating the order deliveries from start to finish. I think Starbucks need to employ some grown-ups to supervise the teenagers. I'll be giving the place a wide berth for a while. Bit of a shame really as I expect Starbucks to be doing much...
Read moreWe have visited here on a number of occasions hoping for a better experience from the last but sadly we have continued to be disappointed. There does not appear to be any leadership or management in this branch and the staff do not appear to have any sense of work ethic or urgency. Lots of gossip going on which seems to be more important than serving customers. During todays visit Morgan did a good job but just didn’t appear to have support and was rushed off his feet trying to cover the drive through and serving the front line - shame as he seems to have potential but let down by management. The cost of Starbucks products are not cheap …. You expect a certain standard. Won’t be visiting again unfortunately which is disappointing as we were looking forward to visiting for a treat...
