Wow – what an absolutely outstanding experience we had at Kiplings in Sowerby Bridge! We came as a group of 7 from work, and honestly, from start to finish, it was nothing short of perfect. I can hand on heart say it’s one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever been to. First off, the service was next-level. The staff were genuinely lovely – friendly, attentive, and made us feel completely at home. The manager in particular was a total gem. He spent so much time with us, chatting, having a laugh, and just genuinely making sure we were having a great night. His banter was spot on and he really helped bring such a fun, relaxed atmosphere to our table. You don’t always get that kind of personal touch these days, and it just made the evening even more memorable. What really impressed us was how they catered to everyone’s individual spice preference. We all like different levels – some mild, some full-on fiery – and they nailed it for each one of us. It’s not often you get that level of attention to detail, especially with a larger group. They even took the time to show us how ordering a simple pickle tray could completely change the flavour profile of your poppadoms and chutneys – honestly, it blew our minds. I’ve never had anyone explain that before, and it made the experience so much more interactive and interesting. Now let’s talk about the food... to die for. Genuinely. Every dish was packed with flavour, beautifully presented, and the portion sizes were massive – like proper hearty plates of food. No one left hungry, that’s for sure! You could tell everything was cooked fresh and with care. From the starters to the mains and the sides, everything was spot on. And here's the cherry on top: if you get there before 8pm, they do an Early Bird Menu – 1 starter, 1 main, and 1 side for just £14.99! Where else can you get that kind of quality, service, AND value? It’s honestly unheard of. The quality of food you'd expect to pay double for elsewhere. All in all, I’d give this place 10 stars if I could. Whether you’re going for a casual meal, a work do, or a special occasion, Kiplings should be at the top of your list. We’re already planning our next visit – and next time, we’re bringing even more people. Hats off to the whole team for delivering a truly top-class evening. You’ve gained seven loyal customers for life!

Been many times and has always been great but last night felt a bit let down by the younger staff. The older gents (there’s three of them that have been there for years!) are always spot on in terms of service, but last night we had a young lass and lad serving us. Had to ask for cutlery multiple times (when we have been in the past cutlery/utensils etc have always been put on the table before the starters even got there), starters ended up getting a bit cold (got cutlery after asking for a third time, then had to ask for napkins on top of that that usually come with the cutlery). Had also placed an order to take home for the other half, and when I asked one of the younger servers to check in on it for me when we were getting ready to leave, asked how long it’d be and she said she’d check. Didn’t see her again. Asked the younger lad 10mins later who went straight into the kitchen and came straight back out with it. Despite this, the food was amazing as always. Mixed meat & veg starter, murgh puri, tandoori tikka masala, chicken pasanda, pilau rice, and a giant naan. All absolutely perfect as usual from Kiplings! PS - props to the youngest server of them all (who wasn’t waiting on our table but people around us) who seemed very nervous but you could tell he was trying his best!

This is our favourite Indian restaurant in Sowerby Bridge! (And its BYO) The food is really really good and consistently spot on. Great flavours and a great range of curries. The starter selection is really good, with my favourite and recommendation being the lamb chops! For us we want to be able to give our kids the same experience but "child friendly". The creamy masala was perfect for our 11 year old. Our younger child isn't quite there with curries yet, so she had pizza! But great choices for the kids. You can bring your own beer and wine, but there is a bar with a decent enough selection of drinks. Overall, I would highly recommend Kiplings. Great for all occasions and I've never been disappointed leaving the restaurant with the food and service!!

Me and my partner attended your restaurant tonight 07.07.2019, I rang and booked ahead of time to inform the restaurant I had a tastecard. This was our first time visiting the restaurant and honestly I was shocked at the service received. On arrival we was asked to sit in the reception area to wait for a table and given some menus, after some time we was then asked for our orders without been seated to a table. I felt as though I was at a take away shop been asked to order in the reception, then when we was taken to the table the restaurant was empty, I was unsure why we was made to wait when a table was available. After then been seated the food arrived, when eating the food I found clingfilm in my chapatti, I informed the waiter and he did not apologise and just said I will take it away including the curry on my plate, another young waiter then came to inform me he would get me another chapatti for free, then then brought me a clean plate and a chapatti and apologised. I find this compensation an outrage seen the circumstances that plastic was found in my food. Then me and my partner were sat without drinks for a vast amount of time after asking the waiter for some water, I had to ask again to remind him 20 mins later and when the drinks came they were warm. I then had to wait for the waiters to come out the back and ask another for some ‘cold’ water as...
