As a former manager of a hospitality establishment, I am appalled by the horrific experience I had at this establishment. This place is an absolute disaster and should be avoided at all costs.
Firstly, walking into the establishment, I was immediately struck by the overwhelming filth and lack of cleanliness. The floors looked like they hadn't been mopped in weeks, and don't even get me started on the state of the restrooms - they were a biohazard zone.
The staff at the commercial ] were beyond rude and unprofessional. They seemed completely disinterested in providing any sort of service and were outright hostile when I tried to ask a simple question. It was as if they had never been trained in basic customer service skills.
To make matters worse, the food I received was not only subpar in quality but also looked like it had been sitting out for hours. I wouldn't be surprised if someone were to get seriously ill from consuming the food served at this establishment. It's clear that food safety and hygiene are not a priority here.
In all my years of experience in the hospitality industry, I have never encountered such a disgraceful establishment. I urge anyone considering dining at commercial to think twice and choose a different place to eat. This place is a health hazard and a complete embarrassment to...
Read moreVery poor customer service. Not been to a wetherspoons for ages so didn’t know the crack. Ordered a breakfast and a coffee. Forgot to ask for the breakfast well done. I was advised by the person who was at the bar to speak to the person at the bar. Five minutes later there was someone at the bar . Took them a while to find my order as the table number didn’t exist. Well i couldn’t find it when i tried to sit there and it wasn’t where id asked to be seated. Breakfast was plonked in front of me. I asked about my coffee. I was advised to go to the bar and fetch my cup. I did so, not realising the cups were behind the bar. Went to the coffee machine and it had no milk in it and was erroring. Left my cup under the machine and told them their coffee machine wasn’t working. I was asked if id tried the other coffee machine. I said “no” and left to get my coffee next door at a cafe where I got my coffee with customer service thrown in. To be fair wetherspoons said there was an offer on coffee only a pound. So I really enjoyed my really airey latte which was also wind swept rained on latte as I treked down the street. So a very expensive...
Read moreDecided to call in here after a nice drive out over the Pennines on a Sunday, on the way back home to save us cooking when we got back. Easy access for disabled up a ramp, atmosphere was nice andrestaurant warm, staff pleasant. Sadly food was not so good with it poorly cooked and small portions for price approx £10ph and we've been to many Spoons restaurants andnot had this before. My fish, although cooked, was very dry and batter was like cardboard, very chewy, as if it had been left all day under a heat lamp. Chip portions were small and so were the peas. Hubby had to ask for extra mash with his steak pudding cos it was so small, which the pudding also resembled a small shop bought version. We did complain to a male staff member about the portion of mash and peas but didn't go further as felt it wouldn't have made a difference and our day's experience was already ruined by then. 3* only given for accessibility, seating quality and availability and friendly staff. Very poor food and so would not recommend, unless you have no choice. I would try one of the other nearby Spoons or nearby Brewers Fayre or...
